HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN (HBO) - Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman are set to topline James Gandolfini's long-in-the-works biopic of one of American literature's most famous couples. They'll play Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn in the project, with Philip Kaufman directing from a script by Barbara Turner and Jerry Stahl. Said effort will follow their "tumultuous romance and subsequent 5-year marriage [which] took them to the Spanish Civil War as Gellhorn stood toe-to-toe with the literary master, putting his famous bravado and iconic style to the test." Gandolfini and Alex Ryan will executive produce via their Attaboy Productions banner alongside Turner, Philip Kaufman and Peter Kaufman. Gandolfini's managers Nancy Sanders and Mark Armstrong will also receive co-executive producing credits with Trish Hofmann as producer. Production is set to begin next year in Northern California.
PRIVATE PRACTICE (ABC) - Brian Benben has been upped to series regular for the show's upcoming fourth season. He'll continue on as Sheldon Wallace, a psychiatrist at the rival Pacific Wellcare Center.
WILFRED (FX) - Randall Einhorn ("The Office") has been tapped to direct the comedy pilot, about "a guy, the girl next door, and mixed-breed dog, Wilfred, who is part Labrador retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender." David Zuckerman is behind the half-hour, which is based on the Australian series of the same name.
