JACKPOT? E! Investigates: The Curse Of The Lottery II Premieres September 8th @ 10:00 PM, ET/PT on E!

(Los Angeles, CA, September 1, 2010) - The big winners in this episode of E! Investigates were anything but lucky - and the mega-millions they won caused only misery, heartbreak, and - in some cases - death. E! sits down with one young woman who barely managed to survive her windfall and examines the stories of others who didn't, uncovering how malicious family members and greedy strangers preyed upon these hapless winners. While everyone dreams of instant wealth and the happiness it might deliver, E! Investigates examines the dark and dangerous side of this universal fantasy. E! Investigates: The Curse of The Lottery II premieres on September 8, 2010 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT only on E!

"Abraham had a very hard life of drama because of the money. The money was like a curse to him," said Greg Massey, friend of Abraham Shakespeare. According to police, Shakespeare was murdered in 2009, two years after his $30 million dollar lotto win. At the time of his death he was penniless and had allegedly been conned out of a large part of his fortune. Jeffrey Dampier, a well-loved family man who won $20 million dollars still had plenty of cash even after giving away millions to friends and family. Unfortunately, Dampier's constant generosity didn't satisfy his sister-in-law who participated in a gruesome plot that led to his death. Also, a young lottery winner from England, Callie Rogers, sits down with E! and reveals how she thought her $3 million dollar jackpot could erase memories of her brutal childhood. Instead, the easy money led Rogers down a dark path marked by drug abuse, a broken heart, and multiple attempts at suicide. Finally, E! speaks with Willis Willis, a lifetime lotto player who finally hit it big . only to have the fortune slip through his fingers before it even hit his bank account.

E! Investigates: The Curse of the Lottery II premieres on September 8th, at 10:00 PM, ET/PT only on E!
