Los Angeles, CA, December 8, 2010 - "X-Play," the most watched video game series on television, announces the nominees for the eighth annual "X-Play Best of 2010 Awards" as selected by G4's team of gaming experts. This year has delivered some of the biggest game titles in history, ensuring intense competition in each of the 21 categories, which include Best Original Game, Best Gameplay Innovation, Best Racing Game and Best Multiplayer. Rockstar Games epic open-world western Red Dead Redemption leads all nominees with 8 nods while BioWare/EA's RPG Mass Effect 2 secured 6 nominations. In a special one-hour show, "X-Play" takes fans through each category to reveal the winners, ultimately culminating with the highly coveted Game of the Year award. In addition, "X-Play" will reveal the winner of G4tv.com's Videogame Deathmatch where the fans decide what is their favorite game of 2010. The battle began with 32 contenders and now is down to only two: Mass Effect 2 vs. Starcraft II.
