"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" SERVES UP A NEW HOME FOR A VOLLEYBALL COACH AND THREE YOUNG SISTERS IN CLAY COUNTY, FLORIDA

On January 26, the design team from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will step in to build a structurally-sound home in just seven days for a volleyball coach and three sisters, one that will match the colorful, creative personalities of its new inhabitants.

For the past 25 years, Carrie Prewitt from Middleburg, Florida has been more than just a high school volleyball coach; she has become a beloved member of her community by serving as a mentor, counselor, confidante and sometimes a second mom to some of her students. Two years ago, that mothering role became real when Carrie took one of her players, Ashley Brewer (now 18 years old), into her home, along with her two younger sisters, Taylor and Gina. The small, run-down house cannot possibly accommodate them, and its crumbling walls make it unsafe, especially during hurricane season. But the family - who playfully call themselves the "Brewitts" -- have done what they can to make their home a fun place to live.

When the Brewer girls' parents passed away, Carrie was made aware of the situation. She immediately agreed to give the girls a stable home life, and is now their permanent guardian. Carrie treats all her players like daughters, and they know they can turn to her for advice and help. She coaches the volleyball team, several school club teams, and runs volleyball camps for elementary and high school students. Carrie believes that every girl who wants to participate in volleyball should be able to, and she makes this possible by running a weekly league, with all of the proceeds going toward those who can't afford the volleyball camps or supplies.

The Prewitt-Brewer family will take a vacation to the Virgin Islands while "EM:HE" design team leader Ty Pennington, designers Tracy Hutson, Jillian Harris and Michael Moloney, local builders Ark Remodeling and Construction, J.A. Long Design Builders and community volunteers build them a new home.

The location address is: 5089 Chicory Ave., Middleburg, FLA 32068

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, of Endemol Holding, and executive-produced by Brady Connell & George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America.
