TIM DUFFY PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING, SPIKE TV
New York, NY, February 2, 2011 - Tim Duffy has been promoted to senior vice president, original programming, Spike TV it was announced today by Sharon Levy, executive vice president, original programming to whom he will continue to report. Duffy previously served as vice president, original programming, Spike TV.
Over the last year, Spike TV's West Coast development team has cranked out a slew of highly-rated series that have connected with Spike's audience on television and online. From "Deadliest Warrior" to "1000 Ways To Die" to "Auction Hunters," Duffy has been on the frontlines in the creation, development and execution of the network's biggest original series hits. Currently, he's working on a new slate of originals aimed at broadening and expanding Spike's audience.
"Duffy's creative vision for Spike's originals has truly resonated with our audience and he has been a driving force in delivering hit shows," said Levy. "As the network's target audience expands, Duffy's acumen for creating shows that appeal to a wider audience will be instrumental to our success."
In April 2005, Duffy was promoted to vice president, original programming for Spike TV. He has since spearheaded the production of several successful programs including the aforementioned "Auction Hunters," "Deadliest Warrior," "1000 Ways To Die," along with "DEA," "Pros vs. Joes," "MANswers," "4th and Long" and "Jesse James Is A Dead Man."
Before his work at Spike TV, Duffy was director of development at Game Show Network, where he helped oversee some of their highest-rated programming, including "Lingo." Prior to GSN, Duffy was production manager at Dick Clark Productions, where he developed "Greed" and "Weakest Link." He also worked on Steven Spielberg's "Millennium Project," a documentary on democracy in the United States shown at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
