NEW YORK, NY (March 22, 2011) - MTV today announced viewers will again decide the nominees for the "MTV Movie Awards." Voting for the "2011 MTV Movie Awards" starts today, March 22nd and goes through Tuesday, April 5th. Fans can log onto MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote in 13 categories for their favorite films, superstars and movie moments to be included in the final list of nominees during the May 3rd - June 4th winner voting period. Honoring its tradition as one of the most outrageous and distinctive televised awards shows, this year's 20th anniversary ceremony will feature the brand new category "BEST LINE FROM A MOVIE." The 20th annual "2011 MTV Movie Awards" will air LIVE on Sunday, June 5th at 9p.m. ET/8p.m. C from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

"MTV's viewers are die-hard film buffs and we love to see how they wield that dedication when voting for the 'MTV Movie Awards,' said Stephen Friedman, General Manager of MTV. "By putting the fans in control of the voting, the show will be less about royalty and more about magic, action and comedy."

MTV fans once again hold the destiny of the golden popcorn awards in their hands. This year's brand new "BEST LINE FROM A MOVIE" category will allow fans to vote on the movie catchphrases they couldn't stop repeating. In returning categories like "BEST MOVIE," the blockbusters "Inception" and "The Social Network" could go head-to-head with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" to be the fan-favorite flick of the year. In a "Movie Awards" first, Kristen Stewart might receive two nominations in the same category with "BEST KISS" nods for her smooches with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." Perhaps "BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE" will see Emma Stone's LOL-inducing performance in "Easy A" leave comedy's heavy hitters in the dust. At the "MTV Movie Awards," it's anyone's game as all will be determined by the viewers as they vote to create this year's list of final nominees for Hollywood's most outrageous awards ceremony.

Categories for the "2011 MTV Movie Awards" are:
