Viewers Can Upload Videos to Nominate Fantastic Moms Beginning April 11

NEW YORK, N.Y. [For Immediate Release--April 11, 2011] Moms may love getting cards and flowers for Mother's Day, but to celebrate its new series House Hunters on Vacation, premiering on Monday, June 6, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, HGTV will offer the ultimate Mother's Day gift--a fantasy "momcation" getaway. Beginning Monday, April 11, at 9 a.m. ET through Friday, May 13, at 5 p.m. ET, visitors to HGTV.com can upload video essays about why their mom and family would like the chance to go on the vacation of a lifetime and appear on HGTV. Whether mom dreams of Hawaiian beaches or perfect desert nights in Palm Springs, HGTV will offer her the surprise trip of a lifetime.

In the spirit of the original series House Hunters, one lucky mom and her family will evaluate three amazing properties and choose the place they want to stay for one week. During the all-expenses paid trip, the winning mom also will get a chance to explore the destination's activities and attractions. She and her family also will be featured in a special episode of House Hunters on Vacation this summer.

"This is a fun and interactive way for us to find one of America's most amazing moms and give her a Mother's Day gift the whole family will love," said Kathleen Finch, general manager, HGTV. "We need friends and families to upload videos telling us what makes their mom special, then one lucky family will pack their bags and appear on HGTV's new series, House Hunters on Vacation."
