WENDY'S(R) AND POPULAR NBC SERIES "MINUTE TO WIN IT" TEAM UP TO BRING FUN CHALLENGES TO FAMILIES WITH KIDS' MEALS

Five Exciting "Minute to Win It" Challenges Will Be Featured in Wendy's Kids' Meals Starting Nationwide on May 16

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 5, 2011 - Families can share in the excitement of NBC's "Minute to Win It" challenges around their kitchen tables, thanks to a licensed NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group promotion with Wendy's restaurants.

Beginning May 16, one "Minute to Win It" challenge will be included in every Wendy's Kids' Meal(R) bag nationwide for six weeks. The five challenges include "Bucket Head," "Hang in There," "Nutstacker," "Spin Doctor" and "Stack Attack." Each "Minute to Win It" challenge has a range of difficulty levels for kids and grown-ups so everyone in the family can play. The "Minute to Win It" challenges are directly inspired by the hit NBC series, and are aimed to enhance family playtime. Joy Tashjian Marketing Group, who represents NBC programming, brokered the licensed promotion. "Minute to Win It" airs Wednesdays and Sundays (8-9 p.m. ET).

"We are proud to partner with Wendy's to bring the fun and excitement of 'Minute to Win It' challenges to families across the country," said Kim Niemi, Senior Vice President, NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group. "These 'Minute to Win It' challenges will be a huge hit with both parents and children for hours on end."

"The 'Minute to Win It' program is a perfect fit for Wendy's "Pause. Play. Together. (R)" initiative, which encourages parents to spend time with their children," said Bob Holtcamp, Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing. "This Kids' Meal promotion is a great partnership with a very popular and exciting network program, and one that can really be fun for the whole family."

Wendy's Kids' Meal bags, toys, and point-of-purchase displays will be branded with "Minute to Win It" elements. Additionally, a promotional code for a 20 percent discount on all "Minute to Win It" products, carried at the NBC Online Store, will be included within every meal (visit NBCSTORE.com). The "Minute to Win It" promotion will also receive prominent exposure on Wendys.com.

About "Minute to Win It"

"Minute to Win It" is hosted by All-American chef and television personality Guy Fieri ("Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"). The series features competitors participating in a series of simple, yet nerve-wracking, games that can lead to a $1 million prize. In each one-hour episode, competitors face 10 challenges that escalate in level of difficulty using everyday household items. Each game has a one-minute time limit and failure to finish the task on time will eliminate the contestant. At various points throughout the game, the competitor can walk away with the money earned up to that point - but it'll take nerves of steel to complete all 10 tasks to win $1 million. The competitors, who come from all walks of life, are shown over 60 games prior to the competition and are encouraged to practice these one-of-a-kind challenges at home.

"Minute to Win It" is produced by Universal Media Studios with Friday Television. Craig Plestis, Tim Puntillo ("Identity"), Mattias Olsson and Jock Millgardh serve as executive producers.
