Denise Contis Named Senior Vice President Production & Development for Discovery Channel

(Silver Spring, MD.) - Discovery Channel announced today that Denise Contis has been named Senior Vice President of Production & Development for Discovery Channel. She will be based in Discovery's Los Angeles office and report to Nancy Daniels, Discovery Channel Executive Vice President of Production and Development.

As SVP Production & Development, Contis will be charged with executing programming strategies and coordinating with independent producers and external production companies. She will also be closely working within the network with a variety of internal team including production management, legal and business affairs, finance, international networks, communications, online, advertising and promotion.

"Denise is one of the hardest working, most tenacious, collaborative and creative people I've worked with. I am thrilled to have her on board at Discovery Channel to help steer us to continued buzz and success," said Nancy Daniels, Discovery Channel Executive Vice President of Production and Development.

Contis previously served as Vice President of Production at TLC and was responsible for such hits as SARAH PALIN'S ALASKA and the wildly successful franchise series SAY YES TO THE DRESS and POLICE WOMEN. Prior to joining TLC, Denise oversaw a variety of productions and special projects with ABC Studios and CBS and held positions at Lifetime, NBC and Buena Vista. Contis also operated her own independent production company, TUK Media.
