FOX INTERNATIONAL CHANNELS SIGNS MULTI-MARKET LICENSING DEAL WITH 20TH CENTURY FOX FOR AMERICAN HORROR STORY COVERING EUROPE, LATIN AMERICA AND ASIA

FOX INTERNATIONAL CHANNELS TO PREMIERE THE SERIES THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 7TH

Los Angeles, CA / London - September 12, 2011 - FOX International Channels (FIC) and 20th Century Fox today announced a multi-territory licensing deal for Ryan Murphy's hotly anticipated new series American Horror Story. Under the terms of the deal, FIC acquired rights for the series that will see it premiere virtually simultaneously around the world.

American Horror Story is Murphy's (Nip/Tuck, Glee) and Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk's hour-long, 13-episode subversive modern horror tale. Produced by 20th Television, the duo, along with Dante Di Loreto (Glee), executive produce.

The drama series is slated to premiere domestically October 5th on FX. Internationally, FIC will pair American Horror Story with this fall's most anticipated returning series, The Walking Dead. The two series will run back-to-back with American Horror Story premiering in the late-prime slot starting the week of November 7th

"FIC has proven that it can launch a series around the world by treating it as a blockbuster movie," said Hernan Lopez, President and CEO of Fox International Channels. "We believe American Horror Story is the next global hit that our viewers and platforms have come to expect from our channels."

Marion Edwards, President, International Television at 20th Century Fox concurred, stating "American Horror Story is the next great water-cooler series, and we are thrilled that it will be the next major international launch for FIC following their unprecedented success with The Walking Dead."

The drama chronicles the lives of Ben and Vivien Harmon (Dylan McDermott, The Practice and Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights) who relocate from Boston to Los Angeles with their daughter in an attempt to put the dark memories of their past behind them. Their new residence in an old mansion hides dark secrets, as do next-door neighbor Constance (Academy Award(R)-winner Jessica Lange), the home's housekeeper, Moira O'Hara (Frances Conroy, Six Feet Under and Alexandra Breckenridge, Life Unexpected), and Larry, a former resident of the estate (Denis O'Hare, True Blood).
