LEGAL AID (The CW, New!) - Feature writer Jonathan Abrams ("The Wedding Doctor") has booked a new drama at the netlet about "a young first-year law associate whose world is turned upside-down when her estranged father, an iconic 1990s TV star, joins her firm." Said hour comes from CBS Television Studios-based Timberman/Beverly Productions with the company's Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly executive producing alongside Abrams, Tyler Mitchell, Jason Smilovic and Robert Luketic, the latter of which is attached to direct. UNTITLED ADAM SZTYKIEL PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Screenwriter Adam Sztykiel ("Due Date") has snagged a script order from the Alphabet for a new semi-autobiographical comedy about "a group of 24-year-old guys who move to a new city, one of them choosing to stay in relationship even though his girlfriend is now 2,000 miles away." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour with Aaron Kaplan and Sean Perrone of Kaplan-Perrone executive producing alongside Sztykiel. UNTITLED SALLY PRESSMAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - "Army Wives" co-star Sally Pressman has inked a talent holding deal with the Peacock. The pact calls for the network to develop a new series project around the actress or cast her in one of its existing properties. Pressman and her co-stars are in their final year of their contracts on "Army Wives," which returns for its sixth season next year. (Deadline.com)
WHITE VAN MAN (ABC, New!) - Bobby Bowman ("Raising Hope") is looking to import Adrian Poynton's BBC Three comedy, about "a man who is forced to put his business dreams on hold in order to take over the family handyman business from his father." The proposed half-hour comes from ABC Studios, ITV Studios and The Mark Gordon Company with Gordon and Bowman executive producing. The Alphabet has given a script commitment to the project.
