AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE TO PRESENT "THE RIDE: THE ROAD TO THE U.S. ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL"

REALITY SHOW HIGHLIGHTS THE JOURNEY OF TWO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL QUARTERBACKS TO THE U.S. ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL

Six-Episode High School Docu-Series Premieres Sun., November 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET on VERSUS

WHARTON, NJ (October 5, 2011) - Backfield Productions LLC (BP) and American Family Insurance (American Family) announced a partnership today for American Family to be the presenting sponsor for season three of "THE RIDE: The Road to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl," which will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 3:30 p.m. ET on VERSUS. "THE RIDE" will highlight the journey of two senior high school quarterbacks from their regular season to their arrival on high school football's ultimate national stage: the U.S. Army All-American Bowl played in San Antonio's Alamodome and broadcast live on NBC Sports.

VERSUS, part of the NBC Sports Group, will air six 30-minute episodes of the critically-acclaimed football docu-series with each week's episode debuting in the 3:30 p.m. ET slot on Sundays and re-airs at 1:30 a.m. ET (West Coast prime) on Wednesdays.

"We couldn't be more pleased to partner with American Family as presenting sponsor. THE RIDE has not only received critical acclaim from the media since its debut three years ago, but has struck a chord with fans nationwide, particularly in the 13-18 year-old demographic, as well as with their parents," said Kate McGuinness, executive producer of THE RIDE and a partner with All American Games. "We have been thrilled with the tremendous support and excitement from our fans - across TV, the web and social media - and are ready to deliver what we believe is our most intense, dramatic and inspiring season yet."

"THE RIDE" captures an in-depth look at the lives of 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl quarterbacks Cyler Miles from J.K. Mullen High School in Denver and Chad Voytik from Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tenn. The show will chronicle their senior seasons on the field as well as the off-field trials each face as high-profile recruits preparing for the world of big-time college football.

American Family's presenting sponsorship of "THE RIDE" is aimed at engaging parents and teens in the Teen Safe Driver movement across the nation. The number one cause of teen deaths in America is car accidents, and American Family's Teen Safe Driver Program is a proven approach to help teens develop safe driving habits to avoid common mistakes. Teens and parents have shared dreams for a bright future and those dreams are worth protecting. More information about the program can be found at http://www.teensafedriver.com/.

In addition, American Family and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl recently entered into a three-year sponsorship of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and several of its associated events. American Family's primary sponsorship is as "Presenting Sponsor" of the NBC Sports telecast, including the American Family College Announcement features, and includes a variety of additional sponsor activations with associated properties, beginning with the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour. Additional sponsor components include serving as the "-Lead National Sponsor" during Bowl Week and the presentation of the American Family National Defensive Player of the Year Award.
