CASSANDRA FRENCH'S FINISHING SCHOOL FOR BOYS (MTV, New!) - Eric Garcia ("Matchstick Men") is looking to bring his "Heathers"-esque novel to the small screen. Said drama will revolve around "a 22-year-old overachiever who gets her dream job as a lawyer for a Hollywood studio but can't find a guy ready for a real, mature relationship who decides to lock a guy up in her basement in order to train him to become the perfect gentleman." Actor/producer Krysten Ritter ("Apartment 23") is executive producing the hour alongside Garcia. (Deadline.com)
GATEWAY (TNT) - Keith Carradine ("Dexter") is the latest addition to the pilot, a period drama about "three brothers who step in to save their town when their sheriff father is murdered, pitting them against a corrupt cattle baron determined to make the town his own." He'll play Frank Saar, "a tired homesteader, worn down by the hardships of the West, who is thrust into the role of a father figure to the late sheriff's three sons." He joins the previously cast Cam Gigandet in the Warner Horizon Television-based hour, which Danny Cannon is directing from a script by Bruce C. McKenna. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CALLIE KHOURI/RJ CUTLER PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Oscar-winner Callie Khouri ("Thelma & Louise") and Emmy-winner R.J. Cutler ("American High") are set to team for a potential primetime soap at the Alphabet "set in Nashville against the backdrop of the country music world." Lionsgate Television is behind the hour, which has a penalty attached. Cutler is attached to direct from a script by Khouri with the pair executive producing alongside Gaylord Entertainment's Steve Buchanan. (Deadline.com)
WAYWARD BOUND (USA, New!) - Richard Murphy ("Confessions of a Contractor") has booked a new drama at the cable channel about "employees at a boutique travel company struggling to navigate life while guiding their clients through the concrete jungle that is Los Angeles." Sony Pictures Television is behind the hour with Deborah Spera and Maria Grasso executive producing alongside Murphy. (Deadline.com)
