FOX Drops Original "New Girl" from Wednesday

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has scuttled its plans to air an original episode of "New Girl" following "The X Factor" this coming Wednesday, October 12.
A repeat - "Kryptonite" from September 27 - will instead air on said night at 9:30/8:30c following a 90-minute "X Factor." "Cece Crashes," the episode previously set to air on October 12, will be rescheduled for a later date.
Last month, in order to combat upcoming MLB playoff disruptions, FOX booked original episodes of "Raising Hope" and "New Girl" on Wednesday, October 5 and October 12, respectively, with additional encores on Thursday, October 6 and October 13.
The network subsequently dropped the aforementioned encores in favor of keeping "X Factor" at two-hours on Thursday nights.
