TLC TO PREMIERE ONE-HOUR SPECIAL "VIRGIN DIARIES" ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4 AT 9PM ET/PT

(New York, NY) - It's the moment a woman is "deflowered" and a man "becomes a man," yet for millions of Americans, that moment hasn't come. Whether it's by choice or chance, both men and women, some well into their 30's and even 40's, are holding on to their virginity. On Sunday, December 4 at 9PM ET/PT, TLC premieres VIRGIN DIARIES, an engaging one-hour special that follows the lives of inexperienced individuals and couples as they go through the trials and tribulations of being a virgin in a sexually charged culture. VIRGIN DIARIES takes a light-hearted look inside the lives of six adult virgins who reveal the truths, anticipations, and very awkward moments that go along with trying to have sex for the very first time.

Throughout the one-hour special, viewers will meet a number of late bloomers, including a couple who are not only saving themselves for their wedding night but also saving their very first kiss. The highly anticipated and very "unique" first kiss is documented, a kiss that viewers will undoubtedly be buzzing about. Additionally, the special includes a 35-year-old bachelor who's never had a girlfriend before or been past "first base," and who also happens to have some of the most uncomfortable and amusing conversations with friends, family, and even strangers about his situation. Also featured are three virgin roommates who are competing to find their Mr. Right - so they can get married and lose their virginity. The roommates even go on a triple blind date... will their declaration of still being virgins entice or frighten their dates?

Meet the Virgins:

31-year-old Ryan and 28-year-old Shanna recently tied the knot and are enjoying the intimate aspects of husband and wife. Both were virgins before they got married and decided to wait for religious reasons. During their six months of dating, Ryan and Shanna limited their physical affections to only holding hands, hugging, and on rare occasions, kisses on the cheek. Ryan had never even kissed a girl on the lips. He wanted to save his first kiss for his future bride on their wedding day and that finally took place this summer (July 2011). Since then, these two lovebirds haven't been able to keep their lips off each other. Will Ryan and Shanna consummate the marriage on their wedding night?

Carey, a 35-year-old mortgage analyst, lives the life of a bachelor with a successful career, condo and great friends. Although Carey appreciates his stress-free lifestyle, there is one thing that he's never had: a girlfriend. That's mostly due to his lack of initiative and maybe some bad luck. It's been two years since Carey's last kiss and he's never even made it past a first date. He wants to find the right woman to build a relationship with but his inability to pick up women is a problem. Carey's witty yet shy and humorous personality may win him many friends but he's clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. Carey's closest pals are stepping in to help him get ready for a blind date and meet women during a night out on the town.

Lisa, Tamara and Danielle call themselves the three musketeers. The three 30-year-olds are not only close friends, but they also live together. All three are saving themselves for marriage. Tamara's story is different from her roommates in that she's a reclaimed virgin. She was sexually active in the past but in recent years, she's decided to refrain from sex until she gets married. Of the three roommates, Lisa is the least experienced in dating. She's never had a boyfriend and has only kissed once. Danielle has dated several times and was engaged once. All three are ready to find their Mr. Right. In fact, they each have nicknames for their ideal mate. For Lisa, it's the "rock star" - the guy who is confident, can sing, play guitar, and wear skinny jeans. Tamara's dream guy is the "Boreal Forest Beach Mountain Man" - someone who loves nature and the outdoors. Danielle is in search of " The Viking" - someone who's strong, adventurous, and can take charge. This summer, the roommates started a dating competition to see who can go on the most dates. The girls insist it's all in fun but admit it has helped them become more proactive in meeting more guys instead of waiting for someone to come along. The roommates believe virginity is a topic that should be talked about openly and thus have started a blog to share their personal stories.

VIRGIN DIARIES is produced by PSG Films for TLC.
