THE ANDREW GURLAND PROJECT (A.K.A. GURLAND ON GURLAND) (Showtime) - Andrea Rosen ("Michael & Michael Have Issues") has booked the female lead on the comedy pilot, a first-person documentary comedy written, directed and starring filmmaker Andrew Gurland in which he "reflects his real family life and the challenges he faces pursuing the next phase of his career." She'll presumably play his wife in the half-hour, which comes from CBS Television Studios and Glenn Gordon Caron's Picturemaker Productions. (Deadline.com)

DOC (HBO, New!) - Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind") has inked a two-year overall deal with the pay channel. The first project out of said pact is a drama about famed gambler/Old West gunslinger Doc Holliday. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage are on board to pen the script, which is based on Mary Doria Russell's recently published novel of the same name. Goldsman and his producing partner Kerry Foster then will executive produce while Ron Howard is attached to direct with Rance and Judy Howard serving as co-producers. (Deadline.com)

GHOST GHIRLS (Syfy, New!) - Jeremy Konner, Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci have booked a potential comedy at the cable channel about Heidi, a self-proclaimed psychic, and Angelica, a tech wiz, who "together they attempt to solve paranormal mysteries each week while trying to prove to themselves and their customers that they are competent ghost hunters." Lund and Blasucci then will topline the half-hour with Konner directing from a script co-written by the trio. Electric Dynamite's Jack Black and Priyanka Mattoo will executive produce alongside Ben Cooley. (Deadline.com)

THE NEW NABORS (NBC, New!) - John Hoffman ("Afterlife") and John Riggi ("30 Rock") are set to team with The Jim Henson Company for a potential comedy about "a human family and the repercussions they encounter living next door to a family of puppets." The duo then will write and executive produce alongside the company's Lisa Henson and longtime Henson producer Alex Rockwell. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)

VILLAGE PEOPLE (ABC Family) - Sebastian Sozzi, Rachel Cannon and Sadie Calvano are the latest additions to the comedy pilot, about Alexa (Jennie Garth), a single, high-powered career woman who adopts a baby from a teen mother -- whom she ends up caring for as well. Calvano will play said teen mother with Sozzi and Cannon as Alexa's fiends Remy and Candace, respectively. Meg DeLoatch is behind the multi-camera project. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - NBC has tacked on two more installments to "Up All Night's" previous full season order, bringing its total to 24 episodes (THR.com); plus two-time Tony winner Frances Sternhagen will turn up on "Parenthood" as Zeek's (Craig T. Nelson) never-before-seen mother (TVLine.com).
