"Ragin' Cajuns," "Sorority Girls," "American Stuffers," "Snake Man of Appalachia" Out in Latest Discovery Networks Purge

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Animal Planet, Discovery and TLC have dropped four of their collective newcomers, scheduling updates from said group confirmed this week.
-- Discovery has cut Tuesday entry "Ragin' Cajuns," which bowed on January 17. Just 671,000 viewers tuned into its most recent airing, the fourth of seven planned episodes. Gurney Productions was behind the hour, about the white shrimp season in the Louisiana Bayou. Various specials will assume the show's Tuesday, 10:00/9:00c slot following "Dirty Jobs."
-- TLC has likewise pulled "Sorority Girls" from its Tuesday lineup - after one airing. The U.K. import, in which five girls attempt to establish Britain's first ever sorority, delivered a modest 421,000 viewers for its January 31 debut. A new season of "19 Kids & Counting" will take over the Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c hour beginning February 14.
-- And finally, Animal Planet has parted ways with its Thursday duo of "Snake Man of Appalachia" and "American Stuffers." 552,000 and 550,000 viewers, respectively, tuned into their most recent airings on February 2. Repeats of "Infested!" will fill both hours for the rest of the month. Dan Sexton Media was behind the six-episode "Snake Man" while Collins Avenue Entertainment produced the eight-episode "Stuffers."
