NEW YORK, July 11, 2012 - "Futurama" fans rejoice! On Wednesday, July 11 at 10:30 p.m., during a live post-show streamed on cc.com, series creator Matt Groening will announce the launch of the latest "Futurama Head-In-A-Jar Creator" app. The free app, which was a huge success on iOS, is now also available for Android users and is loaded with a wealth of additional features. "Futurama Live!" will stream on COMEDY CENTRAL'S "Futurama" page, the show's Facebook page and Ustream.

In response to fan demand, the creators developed a new Decapodian head-shaped Dr. Zoidberg in addition to the plethora of existing head-shaped offerings for all four species. Other highlights include new backgrounds from the current summer season, additional accessories such as the Brain Slug, expanded name-plate features, more eye, nose and hair options and an updated Robot color palette.

"The fans spoke and they wanted an Android version of the app and the ability to make Zoidberg. We listened," said Ben Hurst, VP Mobile & Emerging Platforms.

"Futurama Live!," the first live-stream chat from the team behind the brilliantly subversive animated sci-fi comedy "Futurama," will feature Matt Groening, creator and executive producer, along with fellow executive producer David X. Cohen and cast members Billy West, John DiMaggio and Maurice LaMarche as they take part in a half-hour discussion on Wednesday, July 11 at 10:30 p.m., following the airing of that night's episode, "Zapp Dingbat." They'll talk about the episode (which features a cameo by (George Takei), answer fan questions, and get an exclusive look at the July 18 episode, "The Butterjunk Effect" as well as future episodes. Fans can submit questions via Facebook, @ComedyCentral on Twitter or at Answerama, the show's page on the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Stack Exchange.

The "Futurama Head-In-A-Jar Creator" app allows users to jump into the animated world of "Futurama" and create their own customized characters. Users can choose from a male or female human, robot or alien, and customize many traits including the eyes, nose, hair, blemishes and background. Original artwork and sound design were created by the Futurama team specifically for the app.

Once a Head is created, users can upload it to Facebook and Twitter and share with friends. Users can also save them to their photo gallery, set as their wallpaper or as an icon for one of their friends' contacts. The "Head Museum" is an innovative feature that allows fans to create customized exhibits of all their Head creations. Users can then curate various groups (e.g. family, friends, co-workers, favorite sports team) to display the Heads. Users can also share these exhibits on Facebook and Twitter. Additional app features include streaming clips from the current season of "Futurama" airing on COMEDY CENTRAL.

"Futurama" returned with 13 all-new half-hour episodes on Wednesday, June 20 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.

"Futurama," created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen, is a Curiosity Company production in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television. Rough Draft Studios, Inc. is the animation studio.

Available on-air, online and on-the-go, COMEDY CENTRAL (www.cc.com) is the #1 brand in comedy and is owned by, and is a registered trademark of, Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned unit of Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIA and VIAB).

20th Century Fox Television, a division of News Corp., is a leading supplier of entertainment.
