TV Guide Magazine meticulously went through over 4,500 episodes of footage from the 25 years of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from 1986 to 2011 and selected the top 25 moments that defined the show. "The way Oprah related to and connected with people on The Oprah Winfrey Show allowed for highly compelling interviews and episodes that captured viewers far beyond her general audience," says TV Guide Magazine Editor-in-Chief Debra Birnbaum. "These moments made such an impact that they are a part of television history that will forever be remembered as part of our culture."

The countdown reflects on favorite moments including; Tom Cruise's infamous couch jumping moment, Mattie Stepanek, the eleven-year-old poet and peacemaker who inspired the world with his courage, author of "A Million Little Pieces" James Frey's controversial interview, "The Sound of Music" cast reunion, and many other celebrity surprises and firsts in American entertainment culture.
