SUNNY ANDERSON VISITS HOME COOKS IN FOOD NETWORK'S NEW SERIES "HOME MADE IN AMERICA WITH SUNNY ANDERSON"

Six-Episode Daytime Series Premieres Saturday, October 6th at 9:30am ET/PT

NEW YORK - September 5, 2012 - Sunny Anderson hits the road to track down the unsung heroes of the American culinary world - home cooks. Sunny travels across the country to discover the inspirational stories of the people behind the recipes while learning a few tips and tricks of her own in a new daytime series Home Made in America with Sunny Anderson premiering Saturday, October 6th at 9:30am ET/PT on Food Network. Whether Sunny tastes Grandma Williams' authentic squash pie which is the talk of Fayetteville, N.C. or Mary's granola recipe which is in such high demand that she now sells it in grocery stores, these homemade recipes tell a story and each starts in the home kitchen.

"Sunny Anderson has captivated the Food Network audience for years with her humor, high energy, and inventive recipes," said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Food Network. "Now, we think viewers will love travelling with Sunny as she discovers the mouthwatering, homespun recipes and fascinating stories of America's best home cooks."

Sunny hits Baton Rouge, to try a shrimp bisque family recipe, Oklahoma for award-winning barbecue brisket, and Texas for the best home smoked ribs in town. One episode has Sunny exploring her own stomping grounds in Brooklyn, N.Y. to find Carmen Rodriguez, a home cook turned business owner creating buzz with her unique cupcakes. In Massachusetts Sunny checks out Steve Linehan's famous homemade wing sauce which made its debut at an NFL tailgate party and won the approval of the entire crowd. Sunny experiences the hype first-hand at Wingfest, a backyard party starring Steve's wing sauce.

Growing up traveling the world as an Army brat, Sunny Anderson indulged in many local cuisines. When Sunny joined the Air Force, she continued her culinary world travels and also discovered a desire to explore music, becoming an award-winning radio host and news reporter. Sunny continued her broadcast career playing radio host at stations in New Orleans, Montgomery, Detroit, eventually landing in New York at hip-hop radio powerhouse, HOT 97. Additionally, Sunny has served as Food & Lifestyle Editor at Hip Hop Weekly Magazine and previously ran her own catering company, Sunny's Delicious Dishes. She made her debut on Food Network in 2005 as a special guest on Emeril Live, and in 2008 launched her own daytime show Cooking For Real.

Home Made in America with Sunny Anderson will have music composed by hip hop producer 9th Wonder and The Soul Council and is being produced by Concentric Entertainment.
