ABOUT A BOY (NBC, New!) - The Peacock is taking a new stab at bringing the 2002 film starring Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult to the small screen courtesy of Jason Katims ("Parenthood"). The proposed single-camera comedy "follows the relationship between a bachelor man-child and the young boy who moves in next-door with his kooky single mother." Patrick Dempsey and Max Kirsch toplined a 2003 effort at FOX - written by Matthew Carlson and directed by Ken Kwapis - that didn't move forward to series. Katims will pen the half-hour with Michelle Lee of Katims's True Jack Productions serving as a producer. Universal Television, Working Title and Tribeca Productions are co-producing. (Deadline.com)
BONNIE & CLYDE (Lifetime/History, New!) - "Hannah Montana" alum Miley Cyrus is in talks to topline a new four-hour mini-series based on the true story of bank robbing couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Storyline Entertainment's Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television-based project, which was written by John Rice and Joe Batteer. The proposed effort would be aired on A+E Networks siblings Lifetime and History. (Deadline.com)
THE BUREAU (CBS, New!) - Aron Eli Coleite ("The River") has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a new drama described as "a character drama set at the NY field office of the FBI." The Warner Bros. Television-based Jerry Bruckheimer Television is behind the hour with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman executive producing alongside Coleite and KristieAnne Reed serving as a co-executive producer. Said auspices previously teamed for "Trooper" this past development cycle at the Eye, a project which is being re-piloted at TNT. (Deadline.com)
NERDS IN LOVE (CBS, New!) - Kourtney Kang and Tami Sagher ("How I Met Your Mother") have landed a pilot production commitment for a single-camera comedy about "the dating lives of the social haves and have-nots at a marketing firm." Jason Winer ("1600 Penn") is on board to direct and executive produce the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which is inspired by the unlikely real-life friendship of former mathlete Sagher and former cheerleader Kang. UNTITLED ADAM CHASE PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Adam Chase ("How to Be a Gentleman") has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Eye about "a group of male friends in their early 30s who decide to defy convention and try to stay single as long as possible even though everyone they know is getting married and having kids." The project is set up at the CBS Television Studios-based Green Mountain West banner with Craig Ferguson executive producing alongside Chase and Rebecca Tucker serving as a producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED AARON SHURE PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Aaron Shure ("The Office") has booked a new multi-camera comedy at the network about "a charming reformed party animal who tries to deal with his new family while living next door to his ex-wife." CBS Television Studios is behind the half-hour with Green Mountain West's Craig Ferguson also serving as an executive producer and Rebecca Tucker as a producer. (Deadline.com)
