Joins Seven New Documentaries Premiering Wednesdays at 8:00 PM ET

New York, NY, March 4, 2013 - EPIX is pleased to offer fans across the nation an intimate look at the life and upbringing of basketball great Amar'e Stoudemire in an EPIX Original Documentary Amar'e Stoudemire: In The Moment. Premiering April 19, on the eve of the NBA playoffs, the documentary follows New York Knicks' power forward and author, whose quest is to bring a championship to New York before he finishes his career. Stoudemire was the first all-star player to sign with the New York Knicks as part of the Knicks' resurgence; they are now one of the top teams in the league.

"We are excited to give fans a first person point of view of the journey and achievements of Amare's life and career. Amare's story is inspiring to behold and one fans should not miss as the NBA playoffs near," said Mark Greenberg, EPIX CEO and President.

Amar'e Stoudemire: In The Moment is produced by award winning producer Albie Hecht and Worldwide Biggies and joins seven new documentaries premiering in EPIX DOCS, a weekly showcase of documentaries airing Wednesdays at 8:00 pm ET. Featuring a wide range of subjects from basketball heroes to music idols such as Rick Springfield and LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy, the new season of EPIX DOCS includes stories about resolve, obsession, and controversy.

April 3: Lunarcy! (An EPIX Original Documentary) - Lunarcy! follows an unforgettable group of unique characters, whose obsession with the moon and lunar colonization has given birth to utopian dreams of truly galactic proportions. Starring Apollo 12 Astronaut Alan Bean, the fourth man to walk on the Moon, among other memorable characters, Lunarcy! will play at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival.

April 10: Charles Bradley: Soul of America (An EPIX Original Documentary) - The incredible rise to fame of 63-year-old aspiring soul singer Charles Bradley, whose debut album took him from a hard life in Brooklyn, New York's housing projects to Rolling Stone Magazine's top 50 albums of 2011.

April 17: Eco-Pirate (An EPIX Original Documentary) - An action-packed chronicle of the world's most controversial environmental activist and now international fugitive - Captain Paul Watson. From the formation of Greenpeace to Watson's recent headline-grabbing battles with the Japanese whaling fleet in Antarctica, Eco-Pirate tells the story of one man's lifelong mission to save the planet and its oceans.

April 19 (Friday): Amar'e Stoudemire: In The Moment (An EPIX Original Documentary) - A true inside look at what it takes to become and remain one of the world's most dominant basketball players, revealing his greatest dreams and fears, his focus and challenges. The film follows New York Knicks' power forward and author, whose quest in the 2012-2013 season is to bring a championship to New York before he finishes his career, while also sharing personal stories from Stoudemire's life and upbringing. This is the second documentary in the EPIX In The Moment series with Lindsey Vonn: In The Moment airing previously on the network.

April 24: Shut Up and Play the Hits (An EPIX Docs Presentation) - On April 2nd, 2011, LCD Soundsystem played its final show at Madison Square Garden. The documentary follows LCD frontman James Murphy who had made the conscious decision to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top with the biggest and most ambitious concert of its career.

May 1: Journey to Planet X (An EPIX Original Documentary) - Eric Swain and Troy Bernier are scientists by day and amateur filmmakers by night, turning out sci-fi inspired tales of their own creation. Journey to Planet X follows the filming of their most ambitious film Planet X.

May 8: The Other Dream Team (An EPIX Docs Presentation) - The incredible story of the 1992 Lithuanian Basketball team, whose athletes struggled under Soviet rule, and became symbols of Lithuania's independence movement. With help from the rock band The Grateful Dead, they triumphed at the Barcelona Olympics. Featuring appearances by Pro Basketball greats Bill Walton, Chris Mullen, announcer Jim Lampley, NBA Commissioner David Stern and Mickey Hart, drummer for The Grateful Dead.

May 15: An Affair of the Heart; Rick Springfield (An EPIX Original Documentary) - Rick Springfield's music has bonded multi-generations of fans globally for over 30 years. This surprising and fascinating phenomenon is examined through the lives of a few diehard fans who demonstrate that the connection goes way deeper than the music to the very essence of being human.
