CRIME DRAMA SERIES "KING" MAKES ITS U.S. PREMIERE FRIDAY, JULY 5, 2013 AT 10PM ET/ 7PM PT

(Albuquerque, NM) Tuesday, June 18, 2013 - ReelzChannel today announced that the police procedural original series King will make its U.S. premiere Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. Homicide Detective Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis, The Cleaner) is a charismatic but unconventional cop whose unique eye for detail turns cases around. King sees what everyone else misses: in crime scenes, in evidence, in the motivations and drives of the suspects. She's a fearless and imaginative lateral thinker with a rare quality - King doesn't need to be liked and this quality gets her into a lot of trouble. Viewers will have an additional chance to watch King on Fridays at 12am ET/ 9pm PT.

King is the lead investigator of Toronto's Major Crimes Task Force, the unit that handles the most volatile and challenging cases on the streets: murder, rape, robbery, gang violence, serial and predatory crime. Her eccentric, obsessive approach to police work, packaged in pencil skirts with tightly tailored white shirts, makes her stand out and not always in a good way. Colleagues may resent her but King's fierce intelligence, passion for her job, disarming honesty and wicked sense of humor overrides their doubts.

King also stars Alan Van Sprang (Immortals) as Detective Sergeant Derek Spears, Gabriel Hogan (Heartland) as King's husband Danny Sless, Rossif Sutherland (ER) as Detective Pen Martin and Karen Robinson (Lars and the Real Girl) as Detective Ingrid Evans. King is produced by Indian Grove Productions.
