NEW YORK, Monday, August 12, 2013 - A+E Networks(R), bolstering its position as an industry leader in creating unique and distinctive original content, has elevated four key programming executives to new roles across network brands. The executives promoted are: Elaine Frontain Bryant to Senior Vice President, Development and Programming, HISTORY(R); Paul Cabana to Senior Vice President, Head of Programming, H2(R); Mary Donahue to Senior Vice President, Non-Fiction Programming, Lifetime(R) and Gena McCarthy to Senior Vice President of Programming at BIO(R). The announcement was made jointly today by Jana Bennett, President, BIO and LMN; Dirk Hoogstra, Executive Vice President and General Manager, HISTORY and H2; and Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Lifetime. The new appointments become effective Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Bennett, Hoogstra and Sharenow said in a joint statement: "The extraordinary bench strenth of our creative teams at A+E Networks allows us to give key executives new opportunities across our portfolio. These exceptionally talented leaders have proven themselves time and again with their vision, instincts and passion. They have been instrumental in our extraordinary success, catapulting A&E, HISTORY, H2 and Lifetime into top market positions with some of the most cutting-edge content across the media landscape."

Frontain Bryant, who will be joining HISTORY, has been with A&E since 2005. She held the position of SVP Non-Fiction and Alternative Programming for A&E since 2011. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing such hits as Duck Dynasty (cable's No. 1 non-fiction series) and Storage Wars. In her new position at HISTORY, Frontain Bryant will report to Dirk Hoogstra.

In the 18 months that Cabana has led H2, the network has grown more than 60 percent and become the number one emerging ad-supported cable network, featuring such series as America Unearthed, Secret Slang and America's Book of Secrets. Cabana also helped drive revenue growth, with sales revenue more than doubling since H2's launch. The network is poised for even more growth, with 16 original series rolling out in 2014. Prior to H2, Cabana was Senior Executive Producer for HISTORY. Projects he oversaw include the Emmy-nominated event series The Men Who Built America and Mankind The Story of All of Us, as well as How the States Got Their Shapes, and Top Shot. Cabana will also report to Hoogstra.

Donahue moves from VP Programming and Development at HISTORY, a post she held since 2010, to Lifetime's SVP non-fiction position, reporting to Senior Vice President and head of development, Eli Lehrer. Joining HISTORY in 2008, Donahue was part of the team that developed and launched the hit series Pawn Stars, for which she served as executive producer. She also supervised and produced such hits as Swamp People, American Restoration and the Emmy-winning special Gettysburg.

McCarthy joins moves from her role as SVP of non-fiction programming for Lifetime, to her new role with BIO. She will report to Jana Bennett, who took over as President of BIO and LMN in June. Since 2010, McCarthy has overseen development and production of Lifetime's unscripted lineup, which include the Emmy Award-nominated series Project Runway, Project Runway All-Stars, Dance Moms and Preachers' Daughters, among others.
