E! PREMIERES THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF ITS ORIGINAL SERIES WITH "POP INNOVATORS PRESENTS: STEVE JOBS" THURSDAY, AUGUST 15th AT 10PM ET/PT

TAKE AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE LEGENDARY GENIUS, HIS LASTING INFLUENCE ON POP CULTURE, AND HOW HE CHANGED THE WORLD

"You've got to act, and you've got to be willing to fail. You've got to be willing to crash and burn. If you're afraid of failing, you won't get very far." -Steve Jobs

Los Angeles, CA - August 12, 2013 - "Pop Innovators Presents: Steve Jobs" is the latest incarnation of E!'s new original series "Pop Innovators," which features the stories behind some of the most influential names in pop culture as told in their own words and in the words of those close to them. Offering unparalleled access, the series underscores E!'s position as the pulse of pop culture and the network continues to deliver the most integrated pop culture experience among any entertainment network with 87MM fans across its platforms every month (on-air, online, and mobile). On the eve of the highly-anticipated film premiere of "Jobs,", E! presents "Pop Innovators Presents: Steve Jobs" taking an in-depth look at the life, work, and impact of Steve Jobs. "Pop Innovators Presents: Steve Jobs" premieres on Thursday, August 15th at 10pm ET/PT.

A brand that defines cool consumerism, Apple has become one of the biggest corporations in the world. Founder Steve Jobs was a college dropout with infinite ambition. Since his death in 2011, Jobs' work continues to transform how we communicate. This compelling documentary features Jobs' profound influence on present-day culture through Apple's string of world changing innovations - from the Apple II and the Macintosh to the iPod and the iPhone. Through archival interviews with Steve himself, revelations from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, other former colleagues and those close to Jobs, "Pop Innovators Presents: Steve Jobs" tells the extraordinary story of Jobs and his pioneering work.

The program examines Jobs' groundbreaking impact on every product, company, and industry that he touched and captures the true essence of Steve's tireless drive and passion. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak reminisces about inviting Jobs to join the "Homebrew Computer Club" and how that small club would eventually change the world. Industry influencers tell the tale of Jobs being fired from Apple, a company he created, and his transition to Pixar, (where his work there forever changed the film industry), and back then to Apple. The special looks closely at his legend as a fearless leader, his marriage to Laurene Powell, the foundation he built for Apple, and the massive influence he had on a variety of industries that continues to be felt in the years after his passing.

Select quotes:

"He's changed music, he's changed movies, he's changed computers a couple of times. He's created industries that we didn't think we needed." - Steve Chazin, Former Sales & Marketing Executive at Apple

"Steve and I, we were like a Lennon-McCartney partnership, exactly. I couldn't say who was who." - Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder, Apple

"One of the things that made Apple great was that, in the early days, it was built from the heart. Not by somebody who came in and said, 'I know how to build a company, here's what you do. Dot-dot-dot-dot-dot-dot-dot.'" - Steve Jobs

Upon Jobs' exit from Apple: "He hated the company. He couldn't see it could succeed without him. He didn't want it to succeed without him." - Robert X. Cringely, Former Apple Employee / Technology Writer

"While Steve hadn't been really successful in the relationship department, in 1989 he was speaking at the Stanford business school and there was Laurene Powell." - Shira Lazar, Host, "What's Trending"

"Steve Jobs said getting fired from Apple was the best thing that ever happened to him. He went from working at a company where he had to stick to a plan, to all of a sudden having to start over and come up with new ideas. Pixar is a product of that." - Alison Haislip, Former Host, "Attack of the Show"

"He was demanding. He would not hesitate to call someone at 2 o'clock in the morning if he had an idea he wanted to be pursued. He had no time for people he did not respect." - Avie Tevanian, Apple Software Executive (1997-2006)

"He didn't accept 'no.' He didn't believe 'no.' It didn't exist to him. That was the reality, but it made everything possible." - Shira Lazar, Host, "What's Trending"

"The only thing in your life you have is time. If you invest that time in yourself to have great experiences that are going to enrich you, then you can't possibly lose." - Steve Jobs

"The last few months of his life, you do hear that he reaches out to a lot of old friends, old colleagues, reporters, even you could say, his "nemesis," Bill Gates, has very intimate meetings, gets closer with his own family, who he never really gave them time, because he was so busy at work and in the office and living that life. He finally lives the life of a friend and a father." - Shira Lazar, Host, "What's Trending"

"Death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent; it clears out the old to make way for the new. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." - Steve Jobs

See how Steve Jobs changed the world and the what lead to his everlasting impression on pop culture when "Pop Innovators Presents: Steve Jobs" premieres Thursday, August 15th at 10:00pm ET/PT.
