FX Networks Continues Its Run on Top Box-Office Hits in 2014

LOS ANGELES, June 19, 2014 - FX Networks continues to be the dominant player in the acquisition of commercial television premiere rights of Hollywood's biggest films and in 2014 it has snapped up the exclusive post-pay window to almost three quarters of the year's highest grossing films. These movies will run across FX Networks' suite of channels, FX, FXX, FXM and will also be available on FXNOW, the non-linear platform for authenticated subscribers of those networks.

So far this year, FX Networks has picked up 13 unique titles that have ranked number one at the box office in 17 of the first 24 weeks this year including 22 Jump Street, The Fault In Our Stars, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Neighbors, Amazing Spiderman 2, The Other Woman, Captain America 2, Noah, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, 300: Rise of An Empire, Non-Stop, Ride Along, and Lone Survivor. Other notable titles acquired by FX Networks include How To Train Your Dragon 2, A Million Ways To Die In The West, Rio 2, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and About Last Night.

FX Networks will gain access to these titles 24 to 30 months after their pay window and all titles will be exclusive to FX, FXX and FXM (SVOD such as Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and Netflix will not have access to any of these films during FX Networks four-year window. Aside from FX, FXX and FXM window, the only other outlets to get these movies is to purchase them on iTunes or DVD.)

In 2013, FX Networks landed over two thirds of all films that grossed over $100 million and 31 movies that finished number one at the box office at least one week last year.

FX Networks has the largest library of acquired theatrical films of any and the most commercial television premieres of any television service. FX, FXX and FXM feature movies across all genres in primetime and all dayparts.
