AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Nickelodeon has formally pulled the plug on "Sam & Cat" after placing the series on "permanent hiatus" back in April (Deadline.com); Angelica Celaya has joined the cast of NBC's "Constantine" as Zed, "a character with an interesting dark past and called her a perfect foil for the Constantine (Matt Ryan)," succeeding Lucy Griffiths as the female lead (Deadline.com); NBC is in "an active creative discussion" to extend "The Maya Rudolph Show," either as a weekly series or a series of specials (Deadline.com); Mike Sikowitz and Mike O'Malley has been tapped as the writers of NBC's Bill Cosby multi-camera comedy, billed as "a multi-generational family show" (Deadline.com);
Amazon has zeroed in on launch dates for "Transparent" (Late September), "Alpha House" (Late October), "Mozart in the Jungle" (December) and "Bosch" and "The After" (both in 2015) while pilots "Red Oaks," "The Cosmopolitans," "Really," "Hysteria" and "Hand of God" are all due to be streamed next month (Deadline.com); and Kerr Smith will visit "Criminal Minds" as "a creepy everyday man who turns out to be an acromotophile" (TVLine.com).
