BRIAN URLACHER DEPARTS FOX SPORTS

Future Hall of Fame Linebacker Steps Away from Analyst Role

Los Angeles - Former eight-time Pro Bowler and All-Decade (2000s) NFL linebacker Brian Urlacher has decided to resign as a football analyst with FOX Sports to spend more time with his family, effective immediately.

Urlacher, who retired from football after the 2012 season following a Hall of Fame-caliber 13-year playing career with the Chicago Bears, signed on as one of the lead football analysts for FOX Sports 1 in July 2013. This season, Urlacher offered his analysis and insights on FOX Sports 1's AMERICA'S PREGAME and Sunday morning's FOX NFL KICKOFF.

"We want to thank Brian for his effort and contributions since helping us launch the network last August," FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Production/Executive Producer John Entz said. "While we looked forward to having him as a member of the team this season and beyond, we understand his decision and wish him the best."

Urlacher appeared in 182 games (180 starts) during his professional career, all as a member of the Bears. He earned first-team Associated Press All-Pro honors four times and retired as the all-time leading tackler in franchise history.

"I have enjoyed the work, so this is a tough decision, but right now it's best for me to dedicate my time to my family," Urlacher said. "I've enjoyed my time at FOX Sports and want to thank all of the people who helped create the opportunity for me, especially Eric Shanks, John Entz, Jay Glazer, Joel Klatt, Curt Menefee, Randy Moss, and the dedicated production and support personnel I worked with over the last year."
