OVATION'S HIT ORIGINAL SERIES "SONG BY SONG" CONTINUES TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9 WITH THE PREMIERE OF "SONG BY SONG: LINDSEY STIRLING"

Series Looks at the Meteoric Rise of Electronic Violinist Lindsey Stirling, who Launched Her Career Via Her Own YouTube Channel, Which Now Has Over 5.5 Million Subscribers and 760M Views

SANTA MONICA, CA - October 30, 2014 - Ovation, America's only arts network, concludes its new season of the hit original series Song By Song with the premiere of Song by Song: Lindsey Stirling on Tuesday, December 9th at 10PM ET. The documentary music series will focus on the wildly successful, classically trained electronic violinist, dancer and composer, who has become an internet phenomenon.

Stirling, one of the biggest artist development breakthroughs in history, composes, choreographs and directs all of her original music and videos -- merging unique violin stylings and electronic dubstep beats with animated contemporary dance. Her wide array of videos are all available on her Lindseystomp YouTube channel, which rings in at over 5.5 million subscribers and has tallied over 760 million hits. Viewership is overwhelmingly enthusiastic: the ice-themed "Crystallize" has over 106 million views, her fiery "Elements" has over 49 million and the silhouette-performing "Shadows" has over 44 million. Her most recent album, "Shatter Me," debuted at #2 on Billboard's Top 200.

In the series, two of Lindsey's biggest hit songs will be highlighted and episodes will include in-depth and behind-the-scenes insights from renowned choreographer Laurianne Gibson, the Grammy(R) Award-winning lead singer of rock band Halestrom, Lzzy Hale, and singer-songwriter Dia Frampton, plus Billboard's Andrew Hampp, Rolling Stone's David Wild and YouTube's Margaret Hart. Viewers will also hear intimate, behind-the-scenes stories from Lindsey herself and her sister Brooke, as well as her drummer Drew Steen, her keyboardist Jason Gaviati and her tour manager Erich Jackson.

"After featuring such established acts as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow and Blondie in Song by Song, we next turn our focus on Lindsey, a new and exciting artist," commented Scott Woodward, Ovation's SVP of Programming and Production. "At Ovation, we continue to explore the ever-changing world of music, art, fashion and more. Lindsey Stirling's unique style of electric violin and dubstep shows that art truly is everywhere."

Here is the lineup for each half-hour episode of Song by Song: Lindsey Stirling:

"Crystallize" - Premiering December 9th at 10PM ET. Lindsey's unique meshing of violin and electronic music once left the music industry baffled, but her perseverance and creative use of YouTube as a promotional tool helps her reach a massive audience.

"Elements" - Premiering December 16th at 10PM ET. As Lindsey's music continues to find bigger audiences, her videos allow her to express the passion for dance that she had put on the shelf.

The new season of Song by Song kicked off October 14th with Song by Song: Sheryl Crow and follows with Song by Song: Blondie premiering on November 11. Ovation debuted its Song by Song franchise in 2012 with the premiere of Song by Song: Johnny Cash, which focused on the stories behind six of the country music legend's classic hit songs. It was a critical and ratings success for the network, inspiring a second six episode season, Song by Song: Dolly Parton, which premiered in early 2013. Song by Song is produced for Ovation by Emmy(R) nominated TH Entertainment.
