Syfy Promotes Chris Regina to Senior Vice President, Program Strategy, Syfy & Chiller
In his newly expanded Senior Vice President role, Regina will oversee Syfy and Chiller's program planning and strategy, Original Movie development and production, and scheduling.

SYFY PROMOTES CHRIS REGINA TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAM STRATEGY, SYFY & CHILLER

NEW YORK - December 17, 2014 - Syfy today announced that Chris Regina, one of the key architects behind Syfy's successful acquisitions strategy and the pop culture sensation Sharknado, has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Program Strategy, Syfy and Chiller.

Based in the channel's New York office, Regina will now report directly to Dave Howe, President, Syfy and Chiller.

In making the announcement, Howe said: "Chris has done a remarkable job building a solid primetime schedule with smart, on-the-brand acquisitions and co-productions, along with being the driving force behind the Sharknado global social media phenomenon. We look forward to his many contributions to the growth of Syfy in the years to come."

In his newly expanded Senior Vice President role, Regina will oversee Syfy and Chiller's program planning and strategy, Original Movie development and production, and scheduling. He will also oversee Syfy's acquired international and domestic co-productions ranging from the hit series Z Nation to popular programs such as Lost Girl, Bitten and Continuum, and the upcoming series Olympus.

He joined Syfy in 1998 as Director, Scheduling and Administration. Prior to that, he was Program Director at WGTW-TV in Philadelphia, where he oversaw all program scheduling and acquisitions as well as off-air marketing and promotion.

Regina graduated in 1995 from Rowan University with a B.A. in Communications/Radio, Television & Film.
