FROM CRAIGSLIST KILLERS TO CYBER STALKERS, INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S "WEB OF LIES" RETURNS FOR A SHOCKING SECOND SEASON

(Silver Spring, Md.) - In a 21st-century world, we're increasingly living our lives online, sharing everything in one quick click from vacation photos and observances of daily life to breaking news stories and expressions of our deepest insecurities. It's easy to ignore or forget the millions of people who suddenly have access to your life online, but behind the clever screen names and witty captions hides a dark digital world with real dangers and risks. Returning for a suspenseful second season, Investigation Discovery's (ID) hit series WEB OF LIES unravels tragic stories of deception and manipulation triggered by online interactions. From predators lurking behind their Facebook profiles to creeps scouring chat rooms for their next victim, WEB OF LIES is back with even more jaw-dropping, cautionary tales of deception, seduction, and violence. The second season of WEB OF LIES premieres Wednesday, January 14 at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery.

Each hour-long episode of WEB OF LIES features one true crime story interlaced with expert commentary from local authorities, true-crime experts, and psychologists, as well as first person accounts from friends and families of the victims.

Episodes of WEB OF LIES premiering in January are as follows:

Lost Rider Premieres Wednesday, January 14 at 10/9c Twelve-year-old New Jersey girl Autumn Pasquale loves her new BMX bike, and connects with fellow fans online for tips and tricks to deck it out. But on Homecoming Day in 2012, Pasquale - and her beloved new bike - go missing. The small town of Clayton launches an enormous search party, but with no sign of Pasquale, they start to fear the worst. A trail is left behind on Facebook, but where will it lead?

Mr. Fix It Premieres Wednesday, January 21 at 10/9c City-girl Leslie Belkin moves down south to build her dream home and start a better life with her daughter in rural North Carolina. Looking for local friendship, she goes on Craigslist and quickly befriends a charming man named George Lamp, but when Belkin receives a phone call from Lamp's worried brother directing her to the Department of Corrections website, it turns out that she isn't the only casual encounter Lamp has made online.

Friend Request Premieres Wednesday, January 28 at 10/9c Megan Meier, a vulnerable 13-year old living in a small town in Missouri, turns to the internet for friendship outside of school. When she meets 16-year old Josh online, she falls in love, but the love quickly fizzles as Josh begins cyberbullying Megan, eventually causing her to take her own life. Six weeks later, her devastated parents finally unravel the web of lies surrounding their daughter's death.

WEB OF LIES is produced by Blast! Films with Edmund Coulthard and Nick Cory-Wright serving as executive producers. For Investigation Discovery, Eugenie Vink is the executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager and Henry Schleiff is Group President.
