THE BOSS IS BACK!: "CAKE BOSS" AND BUDDY VALASTRO RETURN TO TLC IN THE UNITED STATES -- AND AROUND THE GLOBE!

-- Buddy Valastro's Smash-Hit Series Renewed for Two New Seasons, with 40 New Episodes to air in 2015 and 2016 in Production Partnership between Discovery Networks International and TLC --

(London, United Kingdom and New York, New York, January 26, 2015) - CAKE BOSS, the popular docu-series following beloved baker Buddy Valastro, his larger-than-life family and burgeoning businesses, will return to TLC. Through a partnership between Discovery Networks International and TLC in the United States, seasons seven and eight will be produced beginning in February by original series producer Jon Sechrist, High Noon Entertainment and Valastro's own Cakehouse Media. Episodes will begin to air this summer on TLC internationally and Discovery Networks International's lifestyle brands, reaching viewers in in more than 220 countries and territories, with the TLC US premiere to be announced at a later date. The re-commissioning of CAKE BOSS and its new production deal was announced today by JB Perrette, President of Discovery Networks International.

"Because of Buddy's global appeal, it is a recipe for success to have Discovery Networks International partner with TLC in the US to produce additional seasons of CAKE BOSS," noted Perrette. "Buddy is a fan favorite...larger than life for our international audiences, and a valued partner of ours."

"If you know me, you know family is my number one priority so it's nice to come back home," said Valastro. "Now it's time to heat up the ovens, roll the cameras and bring our fans some great storytelling and some amazing food!"

"Buddy and his family have been an important part of TLC for years, and we've been amazed by the CAKE BOSS franchise's global impact," said Nancy Daniels, General Manager, TLC. "This partnership with Discovery Networks International will ensure our fans continue to enjoy the action at Carlo's Bakery for seasons to come."

"I'm thrilled to be working with Buddy again. It's like a family reunion!," noted Sechrist. "There's something inherently more meaningful - the humor, the drama, the emotions - with people you know so well. More than just fondant, it's also about German Chocolate Cake, Turkish Delight and Italian Cheesecake!"

The new seasons of CAKE BOSS will show Buddy and the family getting back to the basics in the kitchen, continuing to mix enticing ingredients of his family, friends and employees with the added spice of international customers, special guest stars and celebrities, and baking styles that have made the show such a success. The serieschronicles Buddy's over-arching desire to achieve his late father's dream of making Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, a household name. As one of the most successful and renowned cake artists in the United States, Buddy works alongside a team that includes his mother, sisters, cousins and brothers-in-law. When you're working with family on a daily basis, there is bound to be a lot of drama, but at the end of the day, the Valastros are all about love. CAKE BOSS premiered on TLC in May 2008.

CAKE BOSS is produced by High Noon Entertainment and Cakehouse Media for Discovery Networks International. Jon Sechrist is the executive producer for Discovery Networks International, Scott Feeley and Jim Berger are the executive producers for High Noon Entertainment, and Buddy Valastro and Art Edwards are the executive producers for Cakehouse Media.
