Actor/Comedian/Writer Dave Holmes Takes Viewers on an Insider's Art and Culture Tour of San Francisco, Austin, and Miami Beginning March 11

SANTA MONICA, CA - February 11, 2015 Get ready to discover the artistic and cultural sides of three very different American cities. Ovation TV, America's only arts network, is debuting a new three-part original series exploring the historic and creative communities unique to San Francisco, CA, Austin, TX and Miami, FL. Hosted by actor/comedian/writer Dave Holmes (MTV, Reno 911), American Canvas will have its world premiere on Wednesday, March 11 at 10pm ET, only on Ovation TV.

Here are highlights from each one-hour episode:

· American Canvas: San Francisco - Premiering Wednesday, March 11 at 10 pm ET. In the premiere episode, Dave explores the artistic side of the City by the Bay. On his journey, he meets the pioneering vertical dance company BANDALOOP, takes a journey back to the Beat Generation, soaks in the tastes and smells of America's oldest Chinatown, visits the world's largest private collection of coin-operated mechanical instruments and antique arcade machines at the Musee Mechanique, and takes viewers on a private tour of Ai Weiwei's "@Large" exhibit on Alcatraz Island.

· American Canvas: Austin - Premiering Wednesday, March 18 at 10 pm ET In Austin, TX, Dave gets a two-step dance lesson, goes tailgating at a University of Texas football game, samples food-truck cuisine, cruises the Punk Rock Art Market, goes roller derby-ing, uncovers rare Jimi Hendrix photos, goes on a bat colony expedition via boat, and takes in the excitement of the Fun Fun Fun Fest, the annual music and comedy festival.

· American Canvas: Miami - Premiering Wednesday, March 25 at 10 pm ET Dave's cultural tour of the US continues with a stop in Miami to check out the biggest modern art show in the country: Art Basel. He also takes a food tour of Little Havana, learns how to dance the flamenco, wanders the expansive grounds and gardens of the Vizcaya Mansion, explores Miami's stunning art deco architecture, checks out KRELwear's famous knitwear at a custom fitting, and gets a street art photography lesson courtesy of Aric Attas at Wynwood Walls.

"America has an embarrassment of artistic and cultural riches," said Scott Woodward, EVP, Programming and Production, Ovation TV. "By visiting local artists, tasting homegrown delicacies and participating in the rich cultural traditions and art forms that are alive and well in each city, Dave and Ovation TV viewers get to experience what makes San Francisco, Austin and Miami so special to each city's residents and visitors from around the world."

American Canvas is produced by Ovation Studios and will air three, hour-long episodes weekly at 10pm, beginning on Wednesday, March 11th, with a VOD sneak-peek on Wednesday, March 4th.
