48 HOURS 'TIL MONDAY (FOX/Universal; W: Charlie Grandy; D: TBA) - Merrin Dungey and Kyla Kenedy have snagged roles on the single-camera comedy pilot, about one husband's (Rob Riggle) desperate struggle to not let every weekend go completely to hell. She'll play Candace, "a family friend and bona fide super mom who has three kids, works part time as a lawyer and still is able to make snacks that look like animals, volunteer in class and pick her children up from school on bike." Kenedy then is set as Elizabeth, Charlie's eldest child. Jane Curtin also stars. (Deadline.com)
COOPER BARRETT'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE (FOX/20th; W: Jay Lacopo; D: TBA) - James Earl ("Ground Floor") is the first to be cast in the pilot, a single camera comedy that celebrates the mistakes and misadventures we all make during the years after college, before settling down. He will play Cooper Barrett's roommate Barry. (Deadline.com)
DEAD PEOPLE (The CW/WBT; W: Tom Kapinos; D: TBA) - Andrew J. West ("The Walking Dead") has booked the lead role on the drama pilot, a down-on-his-luck, semi-alcoholic but roguishly charming cab driver who after a near-death experience, he suddenly has the ability to interact with ghosts, including his late ex-wife who he has never gotten over. He'll play said fellow, Floyd Hale. (Deadline.com)
FLESH & BLOOD (ABC/ABCS; W: Jenna Bans; D: TBA) - Margot Bingham ("Boardwalk Empire") has been cast in the drama pilot, about the return of a politician's young son, Adam Warren (Liam James), who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier, sending shockwaves throughout their tight knit community. She'll play Nina Meyer, "a police sergeant with the Red Pines Police Department in Northern California, who's highly regarded within the department, but not always liked." Zach Gilford also stars as Adam's older brother Danny Warren. (Deadline.com)
LA CRIME (ABC/ABCS; W: Steven Baigelman; D: Tom Shankland) - Taissa Farmiga and Darrell Britt-Gibson are the latest to be cast in the anthology series pilot, about two LA cops as they track a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial killer team amidst the rock-and-roll, coke-infused revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip. She'll play Karen McClaren, "an aspiring journalist who has a close call with the killer." He's then set as Diver Hawkes, "a paparazzo specializing in crime scene photography who uses his connections to fuel sensationalist stories that make their way around LA." LIFE IN PIECES (CBS/20th; W: Justin Adler; D: Jason Winer) - James Brolin has booked a role on the single-camera comedy pilot, about one family as told through the separate stories of its different family members. He'll play John Short, "the gregarious patriarch who's going through a bit of a crisis as he turns 70." Angelique Cabral, Betsy Brandt, Colin Hanks, Dianne Wiest, Thomas Sadoski and Zoe Lister-Jones also star. (Deadline.com)
PEOPLE ARE TALKING (NBC/Universal; W: D.J. Nash; D: Pamela Fryman) - Brooke Ishibashi has scored a role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about a white and a black couple and examines sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about. She'll play Tracy, "a wife who aptly balances being a loving mom and a tough-as-nails attorney." Bresha Webb and Tone Bell also star as Angie and Russell. (Deadline.com)
QUANTICO (ABC/ABCS; W: Josh Safran; D: TBA) - Dougray Scott and Aunjanue Ellis are the latest additions to the drama pilot, about a group of diverse FBI recruits going through 21 weeks of training to become special agents at the FBI's academy in Quantico, Virginia - one of which is a sleeper terrorist, who in the near future, has perpetrated the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. He'll play Liam O'Connor, "a staff counselor at Quantico working with the new agent trainees"; while she's set as Miranda Shaw, "the Director of Quantico, overseeing the training of a new group of recruits." Graham Rogers and Tate Ellington also star. (Deadline.com)
RUNNER (ABC/20th; W: Michael Cooney; D: Michael Offer) - Adam Rodriguez (Magic Mike XXL) has booked the male lead on the drama pilot, about Lauren Marks (Paula Patton), who - after a simple twist of fate - learns her husband is not the person she believed him to be. Faced with the harsh reality that her life is forever changed, she goes on a truth seeking journey that entrenches her in a US/Mexican war over weapons and terrorism. He'll plays Troy Alvarez, "who is hated by Lauren's family as he is responsible for the death of her nephew years ago but may be the only person who can help Lauren find her husband." (Deadline.com)
SUPER CLYDE (CBS/CBSP; W: Greg Garcia; D: TBA) - Diane Guerrero ("Jane the Virgin") has booked a role on the revived comedy pilot, about Clyde (Charlie McDermott), a meek, unassuming fast food worker who decides to become a "superhero" for the downtrodden after inheriting his uncle's fortune. She'll play Maddy, "Clyde's very cute, smart and ambitious good friend." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED NBA PROJECT (ABC/ABCS; W: Casey Johnson & David Windsor; D: TBA) - Newcomer Blondy Baruti and Laura Steinel (Draft Day) are the latest to be cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, set in the world of the NBA about a rookie, Mo, who doesn't speak English and a translator, Jason (Skylar Astin), who doesn't speak basketball. Baruti, a 6-foot-10 former basketball player out of Oklahoma, will play the aforementioned Mo with Steinel as Marty, "the intense assistant trainer for the NBA team that recruits Mo." Jami Gertz also stars. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SUZANNE MARTIN PROJECT (NBC/Universal; W: Suzanne Martin; D: James Burrows) - Veteran character actor Stacy Keach has joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy pilot, which chronicles how things backfire for recent empty-nesters when their children and their parents move back home. He'll play Bob, "the ex-military father who moves back in." Miranda Cosgrove also stars. (Deadline.com)
UNVEILED (NBC/Universal; W: John Sakmar & Kerry Lenhart; D: TBA) - Liam McIntyre ("Spartacus") is set to star in the pilot, a drama following an ensemble of flawed guardian angels who intervene in the lives of those who find themselves facing crisis in an attempt to restore their faith and, often, save their lives. He'll play Michael Hunter, "a warrior and rebel when it comes to the rules who has been a guardian angel since the beginning." Stephan James also stars. (THR.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Diego Boneta and Glen Powell are the latest to board the ever-expanding cast of FOX's anthology "Scream Queens" (Deadline.com); Ken Biller has been tapped as the new showrunner of "Legends" as part of a new overall deal with Fox 21, succeeding David Wilcox (Deadline.com); and Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick are looking to bring the former's comic book "Sex Criminals" to the small screen at Universal Television as part of a two-year overall deal (Deadline.com).
