IFC'S "THE SPOILS BEFORE DYING" TO PREMIERE THIS JULY AS THREE-DAY MINISERIES EVENT

Starring Michael Kenneth Williams, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Haley Joel Osment and Many More

Produced By Funny Or Die; Executive Produced By Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele and Nate Young

New York, NY - May 7, 2015 - IFC today announced The Spoils Before Dying will premiere in its full cinematic glory as a three-night comedy miniseries event Wednesday, July 8, Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10. Two half-hour episodes of the six part miniseries will air each evening starting at 9:00pm ET/PT on IFC.

Written in a fit of youthful intoxication by legendary author turned director Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell), The Spoils Before Dying is a debaucherous pulp-noir murder mystery set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles' jazz scene. It follows Rock Banyon (Michael Kenneth Williams) as he becomes the prime suspect in the double murder of his occasional lover Fresno Foxglove (Maya Rudolph) who is found dead with another man. Panicked, Rock splits for Mexico where he reunites with his one-time big band singer Delores DeWinter (Kristen Wiig). With 72-hours to clear his name or fry in the electric chair, Rock and Delores embark on a dangerous quest for the truth that takes them into an abyss of sex, drugs, betrayal, and of course, jazz. While his world crumbles, Rock's hard-charging manager Alistair St. Barnaby (Haley Joel Osment) pressures him to record a mainstream jazz album.

Additional cast includes Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Kate McKinnon (SNL, Ghostbusters), Molly Shannon (Me & Earl & the Dying Girl, SNL), Tim Meadows (Marry Me, SNL), Lou Gossett Jr. (An Officer and a Gentlemen, Roots), Chris Parnell (30 Rock, SNL), Emily Ratajkowski (Gone Girl, We Are Your Friends), Steve Tom (Major Crimes), Marc Evan Jackson (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Jesse Williams (Grey's Anatomy), Andrew Daly (Review, Comedy Bang! Bang!), Chris Mulkey (Whiplash, Twin Peaks), Chin Han (Marco Polo), Ted Levine (The Bridge, Monk), Jack Kilmer (Palo Alto), Bérénice Marlohe (Skyfall) and Patty Guggenheim (Casa de mi Padre).

"Banned around the world almost five decades ago, The Spoils Before Dying is a gritty and unrelenting tale of forbidden everything," said IFC President Jennifer Caserta. "We may all wind up in jail, but this epic tale of sex, drugs, violence and jazz WILL be seen."

The Spoils Before Dying is produced by Funny Or Die and executive produced by Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele and Nate Young. Steele and Piedmont wrote the miniseries, with Piedmont also directing.

Jonrosh first introduced television audiences to his storytelling brilliance with the masterful adaptation of his novel The Spoils of Babylon, a sweeping chronicle of the captivating Morehouse family. One of IFC's most watched and buzzed-about comedies, The Spoils of Babylon showcased a historic cast, including Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Jellybean Howie, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Tim Robbins, Michael Sheen, Steve Tom and Kristen Wiig, with cameos by Molly Shannon and David Spade. Kristen Wiig was nominated for an Emmy(R) in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or Movie for her role as Cynthia Morehouse. The Spoils of Babylon is available for streaming now on Netflix.
