The Leading Destination for Hit Films, FX Networks Licenses the Hit Toon After It Scores The Second-Biggest Opening Weekend Ever For An Animated Feature

Ted 2 and Terminator Genisys Also Added to FX Networks' Growing List of Major Features Acquired This Year

LOS ANGELES, July 14, 2015 - FX Networks, the leading destination for blockbuster features, has secured the exclusive U.S. commercial television premiere rights to Minions, which scored the second-biggest opening weekend ever for an animated feature with $115 million in domestic box office revenue. Minions is the latest box office #1 to be acquired for television by FX Networks and its suite of networks - FX, FXX, FXM and the video-on-demand platform FXNOW. In addition, FX Networks has acquired two other recent major box office releases, Ted 2 and Terminator Genisys.

The news comes after FX Networks secured the exclusive U.S. commercial television premiere rights to Jurassic World, the fastest film to generate $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue, Furious 7, which has grossed over $1.5 billion in worldwide box office revenue, as well as Pitch Perfect 2. FX Networks has also licensed Taken 3, which topped the box office in January, the surprise February hit Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Home.

As an aggressive buyer of major box office hits, FX Networks has established itself as the leading destination for blockbuster features and movies with wide audience appeal. In 2014, FX Networks licensed 67% of all of the year's features that grossed more than $100 million at the box office.
