GUESTS CHECK-IN, BUT NEVER CHECK-OUT IN INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S NEW SERIES "DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS"

-- Renowned Filmmaker Joel Schumacher Executive Produces Three-Part Series, Slated to Premiere this October --

(Beverly Hills, Ca.) -Even five-star hotels have dirty little secrets. Full of salacious acts, secret trysts and cold-blooded murder, DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS gives viewers a peek behind closed doors to shocking crimes that happened inside hotels. Premiering Wednesday, October 21 at 9/8c, DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS pairs together ID's true-crime intrigue with the cinematic storytelling experience of award-winning director Joel Schumacher, who is the executive producer of the series.

"The Investigation Discovery team was thrilled to work with Joel Schumacher on DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS," said Henry Schleiff, Group President, Discovery Networks. "Calling on Joel's affinity for ID and true crime stories, this series stylistically explores the hidden motives and dark secrets that ultimately led to gruesome murders in well-known hotels."

Bolstered by the legendary Schumacher's creative genius, each hour-long episode of DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS weaves together cinematic-style reenactments, actual crime scene footage and commentary from hotel staff, true-crime experts and the victim's family and friends.

The premiere episode begins at the exclusive Soho House Hotel in New York City - the place to be for those in the film, fashion or television industry. The chic private club was the scene for a rising swimwear designer and her trust fund boyfriend to network and get a good night's rest. But for one of them, it will be their last. This was the classic mystery case of love gone so terribly wrong. Other episodes of DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS include:

"Saints and Sinners" Wednesday, October 28 at 9/8c New Orleans has always been a city of saints and sinners - some are pious, but many more come to party. At the heart of the city is its famed French Quarter, built around St. Louis Catholic Cathedral, visited by tourists and parishioners by day - and gutter punks, hustlers and tarot card readers by night. But when someone gets murdered in a nice French Quarter hotel in this tourist town, everyone takes notice. When police have no viable suspects in this bloodbath, they turn to the city's darker elements for answers.

"Hell at Heathrow" Wednesday, November 4 at 9/8c London's busy Heathrow Airport is an international hub, and the posh Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel nearby is the perfect spot to spend the night for wealthy travelers. It's also the perfect place for foreigners to find work until the deadly riots hit the city of London and its surrounding areas, leaving five dead. While the authorities try to restore the calm, three hotel employees go missing. Investigators soon learn there was an all-night party on the hotel grounds, mixing drugs, alcohol and some sexual exploits. Could the bedlam in London have something to do with the disappearances - or was it something more sinister? DO NOT DISTURB: HOTEL HORRORS is produced for Investigation Discovery by Matador Content with Jay Peterson, Joel Schumacher and Mark Marabella serving as executive producers. For Investigation Discovery, Pamela Deutsch is senior executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President. About Joel Schumacher

Joel Schumacher is renowned for his versatility, style and ability to move seamlessly between film genres with equal popular success and critical acclaim. He began his film career as a costume designer for such legendary directors as Woody Allen (Sleeper, Interiors) and Herbert Ross (The Last of Sheila), before making his own name as a screenwriter with Sparkle and Car Wash. After cutting his teeth directing two television movies, Joel made his feature film directorial debut on The Incredible Shrinking Woman in 1981. His career soon took off with such iconic fare as St. Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys, followed by other successes - Cousins, Flatliners, Dying Young and Falling Down. He would go on to direct film versions of two best-selling novels by John Grisham (The Client and A Time to Kill) as well as two installments of the blockbuster Batman film series, Batman Forever (at the time, the #1 box office opening of all time, with Jim Carrey as 'The Riddler') and Batman & Robin. As his career entered the 21st century, Joel brought audiences the films 8MM, Flawless (which he also wrote), Tigerland, Phone Booth, Bad Company, Veronica Guerin, The Number 23 and Trespass. In 2004 he adapted Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical, The Phantom of the Opera, for the screen. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy. Twelve, based on the groundbreaking novel by Nick McDonell, was honored as the closing night presentation of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Most recently, Joel returned to television, directing two episodes of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey and executive produced by David Fincher.
