Glenn Morshower Joins "Supergirl" Cast As General Sam Lane

The General marches into National City this fall.

There's a new general in town, and he's bringing a whole lot of experience along with him.

Glenn Morshower, who is known for his roles in X-Men: First Class, Moneyball, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, will join the Supergirl cast as General Sam Lane. Upon his arrival in National City, this stern military man will recruit Supergirl to help execute a top-tier government mission.

But General Sam Lane isn't just a man with a plan - he's also the overprotective father to both Lucy and Lois Lane.

Morshower is the latest character to make his way into the Supergirl family, joining Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane, Justice Leak as Hellgrammite, and Iddo Goldberg as Red Tornado.

Supergirl premieres on CBS on Oct. 26.
