TV ONE AND THE NATIONAL CABLE TELEVISION COOPERATIVE ANNOUNCE LONG-TERM DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT
SILVER SPRING, MD - Oct. 7, 2015 -- The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) and TV One, the network targeting the adult African-American viewer with original programs, movies and specials, including the award-winning Unsung and the prestigious NAACP Image Awards, announced a multi-year distribution agreement today.
"TV One is delighted to begin a multi-year agreement with NCTC," said Michelle L. Rice, TV One's executive vice president content distribution and marketing. "Establishing this inaugural partnership with NCTC and its approximately 850 member-operators will enable us to continue to provide the critically acclaimed and entertaining content for Black adults in even more communities across the country."
"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with TV One," said Judy Meyka, NCTC's executive vice president of programming. "NCTC's partnership with TV One is a great way to align our independent operators with an independent programmer. We look forward to creating a long-lasting relationship with the network."
In 3Q15, TV One saw year-over-year gains among all key demos buoyed by the success of award-winning original series Unsung, reality hit Hollywood Divas, true crime series Fatal Attraction and For My Man, and popular original movies. Additionally, TV One is home to News One Now, the only live daily morning news show from a Black perspective airing weekdays at 7AM/ET and is the exclusive home of the prestigious NAACP Image Awards.
