Kal Penn Joins Hulu's "Deadbeat" This morning we announced Kal Penn has joined the cast of Hulu's Original Deadbeat: Kal Penn has joined Hulu Original series Deadbeat as "Clyde." Penn will star in all 13-episodes of the comedy's upcoming season three as a series regular and co-star with Tyler Labine. Clyde is a stoner entrepreneur extraordinaire and all-around good dude, who becomes Pac's (Tyler Labine) business partner. Deadbeat starts production on its third season in New York on October 19th. The third season is slated to premiere on Hulu in Spring 2016. Deadbeat is produced by Lionsgate Television Group. Cody Heller and Brett Konner (Wilfred, The Inbetweeners) are co-creators and showrunner Dan Lagana executive produces. Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg from Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment are producers. Deadbeat stars Tyler Labine as Kevin Pacalioglu, a hapless but gifted medium who will go to any lengths to help New York's ghosts settle their unfinished business. Hulu is now available commercial free for $11.99 a month.
