MICHAEL CHERNOW TAKES THE FOOD SCENE BY STORM WITH A NATIONWIDE HUNT FOR MOST POPULAR #FOODPORN DISHES

BETHENNY FRANKEL SERVES AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

NEW YORK, October 29, 2015 - In FYI's new original series, "Food Porn," Michael Chernow sets out to uncover the nation's most mouth-watering dishes and delves into the insanely popular hashtag that has taken the world by storm. Fourteen half-hour episodes begin premiering on Thursday, December 3 at 9pm ET.

People are obsessed with taking pictures, sharing and discussing the food they eat on social media. To date, there are nearly 70 million posts on Instagram with the hashtag #foodporn, and the phrase is tagged nearly every two seconds on Twitter.

"Everyone picks up their phone way before their forks when they go out to eat and FYI wanted to be the first to capture this trend and bring it to life," said Gena McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Programming and Development for FYI. "We knew chef and restaurateur, Michael Chernow, was the right person to help make this show an engaging, fun and drool-worthy experience for our viewers."

In the new series "Food Porn," Michael will take on the cultural phenomenon in search of the most buzzed about food in America. Viewers will follow Michael as he travels across the US to meet today's tastemakers - the everyday people behind the delicious online posts - and discover what makes the meal so distinctive and worthy to share online. The series will also go beyond just the photo, as Michael will get his hands dirty in the kitchen and meet with the chefs responsible for creating the dishes to find out what's in them and why they are so insanely popular.

No culinary hot spot is missed as Michael travels across America to foodie cities like New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. The series will feature delectable dishes such as Lobster pop-tarts, the ramen burger, a pizza pot pie, a breakfast ice cream cake, a Filipino Kamayan-style feast and more.

Michael Chernow, New York restaurateur, owner of Seamore's and co-founder of The Meatball Shop, hosts the series. Bethenny Frankel, TV personality, author and entrepreneur, serves as an executive producer.

"Food Porn" is produced by Loud TV for FYI. Executive producers for Loud TV are Nick Rigg, David George, Jordana Hochman and Brent Montgomery. Executive producers for FYI are Gena McCarthy and James Bolosh.
