STUDIO CITY, CA - November 5, 2015 -- Hallmark Channel's original movie "A Christmas Melody," directed by and starring musical legend and Grammy(R) award-winning superstar Mariah Carey, is set to debut Saturday, December 19 at 8pm ET/PT as the network's finale feature for its Countdown to Christmas programming event. Mariah Carey stars alongside Lacey Chabert ("Mean Girls," "Party of Five), Brennan Elliot ("Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove"), Kathy Najimy ("Hocus Pocus," "Sister Act") and 10-year-old Broadway sensation singer/actress Fina Strazza ("Matilda" on Broadway, "A Little Game") in this seasonal musical film spectacular.

"It is a true honor to welcome the multi-talented Mariah Carey to the Hallmark family," said Michelle Vicary, EVP, Programming and Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. "Mariah Carey and her extraordinary all-star cast will bring to life a treasured seasonal classic that our viewers will fall in love with during the holidays."

"A Christmas Melody" revolves around Kristin (Chabert), a beautiful, stylish divorcee who is a talented clothing designer and her young daughter, Emily (Strazza). Kristin has just had to close her small Manhattan boutique to return to her Ohio home town and live in her parents' former home. It's an adjustment for Kristin and Emily - especially when she runs into her former high school rival Melissa (Carey). Melissa is president of the PTA and tries to make Kristen feel as unwelcome as possible. Kristen and Emily struggle to find their new normal with the help of the hunky local music teacher Danny (Elliott) and coffee shop owner Sarah (Najimy).

"A Christmas Melody" is a Brad Krevoy Television production. Brad Krevoy, Jonathan Axelrod, Stella Bulochnikov, Kevin Connor, Eric Jarboe and Alan Ett are executive producers. Karri O'Reilly is the producer. Mariah Carey directs and stars in a script written by Jennifer Notas Shapiro.
