ENCORE KICKS OFF 2016 WITH AN ACTION-PACKED MARATHON OF "THE A-TEAM" ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

Beverly Hills, Calif., December 22, 2015 - ENCORE loves it when a plan comes together and today announced a 24-hour marathon of the 80s classic TV show "The A-Team" beginning Thursday, December 31 at 7pm ET/PT on ENCORE CLASSIC. The marathon will feature favorite episodes including Hulk Hogan's guest-starring appearance, Murdoch's big win on the "Wheel of Fortune" and B.A.'s (Mr. T) fighting moves in the boxing ring.

The wall-to-wall high octane action and vintage 80s cheese of "The A-Team" continues weekdays, Monday through Friday at 7:50 p.m. ET/PT beginning on January 4, 2016 on ENCORE CLASSIC.

"The A-Team" series follows the exploits of a "crack commando unit" that becomes soldiers of fortune known as The A-Team after escaping from the maximum-security prison they were sent to for a crime they didn't commit. On the run from the military, they are heroes for hire, and "if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team."

The show revolves around four former commandos-turned-mercenaries - John "Hannibal" Smith (George Peppard), Templeton "Faceman" Peck (Dirk Benedict), the team's pilot H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock (Dwight Schultz) and strongman, B.A. (Bad Attitude) Baracus (Mr. T). Notable series guest stars include football legend Joe Namath, musicians Rick James, Boy George, WWE star Hulk Hogan, Vanna White ("Wheel of Fortune"), Pat Sajak ("Wheel of Fortune"), Tia Carrere ("Wayne's World"), Joanna Kerns ("Growing Pains"), Liz Sheridan ("Seinfeld"), and Della Reese ("Touched by an Angel"), among others.

The A-Team premiered in 1983 and became a breakout hit, running for five seasons .Known for its cartoonish violence, memorable theme tune and characters' ability to make weapons out of random parts, the show was nominated for three Emmy(R) Awards during its five-season run from 1983 to 1987.
