FUTURE MAN (Hulu/Sony; W: Ariel Shaffir & Kyle Hunter; D: Evan Goldberg & Seth Rogen) - Derek Wilson ("Preacher") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a janitor by day/world-ranked gamer by night (Josh Hutcherson) who is tasked with preventing the extinction of humans after mysterious visitors from the future proclaim him the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion. He'll play Wolf, "a futuristic soldier, another character in the Cybergeddon video game, Wolf is a grizzled, deadly, action hero." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - ABC has trimmed the season six order for "Scandal" from 22 to 16 episodes due to star Kerry Washington's pregnancy (TVLine.com); CBS Television Studios took to Twitter with the news its new "Star Trek" series will begin filming this fall in Toronto (@CBSTVStudios); Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner's novel "These Broken Stars" is being developed as a series by MGM Television (Deadline.com); Christopher Gorham will guest on "Major Crimes" as "a sharp, tech-savvy marketer laser-focused on promoting his celebrity clients through the manipulation of social media platforms" (THR.com); Dan Bucatinsky will drop by Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" revival in an unspecified role (@danbucatinsky); and Nick Tarabay will recur in at least eight episodes of "The Expanse" as Coyter, "a former spy now working in the private sector who is approached by Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo) about working undercover for her" (Variety.com).
