MULTI-TALENTED SUPERSTARS DEMI LOVATO AND NICK JONAS TO PERFORM ON THE "BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR," FEATURING THE BOSTON POPS LED BY KEITH LOCKHART, TO BE BROADCAST LIVE FOR TWO HOURS, MONDAY, JULY 4, ON CBS

Multi-talented superstars Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas will perform on the BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR, a two-hour entertainment special to be broadcast live from the Charles River Esplanade in Boston, Monday, July 4 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Lovato and Jonas will perform some of their biggest hits with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart.

The BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR, now in its 43rd year, is the orchestra's annual free outdoor Fourth of July concert. David Mugar, who will also serve as executive producer, founded the event in 1974.

Demi Lovato is a multi-platinum selling recording artist who released her fifth studio album, "Confident," in 2015. Within hours of the release of the first single, "Cool for the Summer," the anthem trended worldwide and hit #1 on iTunes in 37 countries. Previously, her album, Demi, released in 2013, hit #1 on iTunes in over 50 countries around the world, with the lead single, "Heart Attack," earning Platinum status. In addition, she had a top five radio smash and platinum single, "Neon Lights," and a top 10 single, "Really Don't Care."

In 2016, Lovato became the recipient of GLAAD's Vanguard Award. In addition, she's one of the biggest names on social media, with an engaged following of 36 million Twitter followers, over 38 million Instagram followers, and over 38 million Facebook fans.

Nick Jonas launched his solo music career with a self-titled debut album, Nick Jonas, released in November 2014. The critically-acclaimed album included the triple-platinum single and #1 U.S. radio hit, "Jealous," which he co-wrote, the double platinum single, "Chains," and the hit single "Levels." In 2015, in partnership with Island Records, Demi Lovato, and long-time manager Phil McIntyre, he launched the artist-centric record label, Safehouse Records. Recently, Jonas announced that his upcoming album, Last Year Was Complicated, will be released on June 10th. The first single off the album, "Close," featuring Tove Lo, was released in March 2016. His co-writing credits on the album include "Chainsaw," "Unhinged," "The Difference," "Champagne Problems" and "Bacon." Jonas was the driving songwriting force behind the Jonas Brothers and was a co- writer or sole writer on the majority of their releases. In addition, he helped pen a number of songs on Demi Lovato's first album. He is set to kick off his 40-city North American HONDA CIVIC TOUR: FUTURE NOW with Demi Lovato in June.

Having celebrated his 20th anniversary as Boston Pops Conductor in 2015, Keith Lockhart is the second longest-tenured conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra since its founding in 1885. During his tenure, Lockhart significantly expanded the orchestra's programming, focused on national annual touring and participated in major media events. He solidified the Pops's place in the fabric of the New England community and has led the Boston Pops in countless performance situations. Lockhart has conducted more than 1,700 Boston Pops concerts, most of which have taken place during the orchestra's spring and holiday seasons in Boston's historic Symphony Hall. Also, Lockhart has led annual Boston Pops appearances at Tanglewood, 40 national tours to 134 cities in 33 states, and four international tours to Japan and Korea.

Affectionately known as "America's Orchestra," in 2016 the Boston Pops enters its 131st season of entertaining audiences in Boston and beyond. Arthur Fiedler's 50-year tenure as Pops Conductor (1929-1979) established the Boston Pops as a national icon. John Williams (1980-1993), who succeeded Arthur Fiedler in 1980, is the most highly acclaimed composer in Hollywood and today, with 50 Academy Award nominations, the most-nominated living person in Academy history. Keith Lockhart (1995-present) has created programs that reach out to a broader and younger audience by presenting artists, both established performers and rising stars, from virtually every corner of the entertainment world, all the while maintaining the Pops' appeal to its core audience. The Boston Pops performs for an audience of nearly 900,000 people annually in Boston, across the country and around the world, and reaches millions more through its recordings and television broadcasts. For more information, visit www.bostonpops.org.

Boston 4 Productions (www.july4th.org) has produced this event for the past 43 years, which is attended annually by approximately 500,000 people who pack Boston's Charles River Esplanade. Boston 4 Productions (B4) is the production arm of Boston 4 Celebrations foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Boston's July 4th event was founded in 1974 by then Boston Pops Conductor Arthur Fiedler and Boston businessman David G. Mugar. While Fiedler had been conducting Esplanade concerts since 1929, the idea of adding Tchikovsky's "1812 Overture" with fireworks, cannons and bells sparked new life into the well-known musical tradition. The event became famous in 1976 during America's Bicentennial celebration; 400,000 people gathered on the Esplanade and became the largest live symphonic orchestral audience at the time and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Now marking its 43rd year, THE BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR is B4's flagship event.

The BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR live event will be produced by Boston 4 Productions and live broadcast by White Cherry Entertainment. Boston 4 Productions' David G. Mugar, Pamela Picard and Rich MacDonald are executive producers. Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner will produce the national telecast; Michael Mathis of IMG Media and Pamela Picard will produce the local telecast seen on WBZ-TV Boston from 8:00-9:00 PM live ET. Glenn Weiss will direct both the local and network broadcasts.
