'Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved' to Premiere Sunday, July 10 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT Uncovering the Shocking Truth About the Crash That Claimed Diana's Life

(Albuquerque, NM) Monday, May 23, 2016 - REELZ today announced two new original documentary specials about the real stories behind Princess Diana's remarkable life and mysterious death. On Saturday, July 9 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT it's the premiere of Princess Diana: Behind Closed Doors, hosted by Natalie Morales of NBC News' TODAY and produced by NBC News' Peacock Productions. Princess Diana: Behind Closed Doors is an intimate look at what wasn't seen in Diana's intensely public life as she captivated the world and shook the British monarchy to its core.

The following day on Sunday, July 10 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT it's the premiere of Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved presenting the results of internationally renowned detective Colin McLaren's investigation into one of the most infamous cases of the 20th century. The two hour documentary special will blast away the confusion surrounding Diana's death and expose the fatal flaws of the crash investigation. Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved is produced by Bedlam.

"Almost two decades have passed since Princess Diana's untimely death in Paris and yet the passion and intrigue about her remains unparalleled," said Steve Cheskin, REELZ SVP of Programming. "Our viewers have always had a strong interest in our royal family programming and these two documentary specials will raise the bar with their insightful and revealing looks at Diana's incredible story."

Throughout her life Diana, Princess of Wales held many titles: Lady Di, Shy Di, her royal highness, single mother, divorcee, style icon and humanitarian. In Princess Diana: Behind Closed Doors Natalie Morales of NBC News' TODAY hosts a special look at what we don't know about Diana. What went on behind the gates at Kensington Palace and what led to her bombshell revelations in books and interviews about her husband, their marriage and the inner workings of the British monarchy? Princess Diana: Behind Closed Doors will feature interviews with Diana's personal friends as well as historians, biographers and contemporaries who cover the royal family. Princess Diana: Behind Closed Doors will premiere Saturday, July 9 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT and is produced by Peacock Productions, a division of NBC News.

In Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved internationally renowned detective, Colin McLaren - the man who cracked the case of who really killed JFK in the REELZ documentary JFK: The Smoking Gun - sets out to find answers to questions that still surround the death of Princess Diana. The only independent detective at the crash site in Paris in 1997, McLaren immediately noticed the many mistakes made by the French police. In addition to missing vital clues they were misled by unreliable witnesses and failed to see crucial forensic evidence at the scene. McLaren didn't. He photographed a trove of evidence while French authorities saw it merely as a car accident and swept away the clues. McLaren re-examines every aspect of the French and British investigations, interviews witnesses and offers viewers the real truth into how and why Diana was killed. His whodunit search sees him track down and confront the driver of a mysterious car that collided with Diana's car just before her Mercedes slammed into the tunnel. Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved will reveal the shocking proof of a cover up that turned into a 20-year-old mystery and will premiere Sunday, July 10 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Princess Diana's Death: Mystery Solved is produced by Bedlam.
