New Episodes from Season Two of Amazon Original Series "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street" will premiere on Prime Video Friday, July 15
On Friday, July 15, new episodes from the second season of Amazon's Emmy Award-nominated original live-action family series Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street are scheduled to debut on Prime Video.
Starring Sloane Morgan Siegel as Gortimer, Ashley Boettcher as Mel and Drew Justice as Ranger, the new episodes of Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street continue the trio's adventures, finding Gortimer's mother Claire (Robyn Lively) transformed into a "super mom" after receiving a gift from him, Gortimer stumbling on to an inter-dimensional transporter taking him to his favorite '60s superhero series, and Gortimer on the quest to bring his friends back to normal after they wind up stuck in a 1920s-themed mystery party.
The new episodes also mark the end of middle school and a pivotal point in Gortimer's, Mel's and Ranger's friendship, spurred by the news of Gortimer's move away from the safe haven of Normal Street for his mother's new job. They must now think about and consider the reality of exploring life beyond Normal Street. Through it all, the trio learn that it's their sometimes-tested, but rock-solid friendship that will pull them through.
One of the brand-new episodes features a cover of "What a Wonderful World" from The Avett Brothers, adding to the unique covers from seasons one and two, including Sharon Van Etten's "Do You Realize?," Conor Oberst's "Lean on Me" and Andrew Bird's "Stand By Me." An EP featuring all four songs will be available exclusively on Amazon Music on July 15.
Created by David Anaxagoras and executive produced by Oscar winner Luke Matheny (God of Love), Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street is a coming-of-age tale of friendship that centers around Gortimer and the bond with his two best friends Ranger and Mel, as they chronicle their adventures on Normal Street - an ordinary suburban neighborhood that has a hint of something unexpected just beneath the surface. The series has garnered Parents' Choice Awards in 2015 and 2016, a WGA award and the Humanitas Prize in 2015.
Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street is the first kids series to receive a greenlight from Emmy Award-winning Amazon Studios' open-door pilot submissions process. Anaxagoras, a preschool teacher, was one of many aspiring filmmakers and screenwriters who submitted their ideas for original series through AmazonStudios.com, and whose concept moved forward as a pilot that debuted on Amazon Video in February 2014. Inviting the audience in early at the pilot stage, the project received positive feedback from customers and ultimately received two season orders.
