Official Pre-Show Event for the '68th Primetime Emmy Awards' Airs Sunday, September 18, on ABC

ABC announced today "Countdown to the Emmys: Red Carpet Live," the official pre-show event leading into television's biggest night, the "68th Primetime Emmy Awards." The 60-minute special, hosted by "Good Morning America" co-anchor Lara Spencer and ABC's "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison, begins SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 (7:00-8:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Spencer will be joined by ABC News Correspondent Rachel Smith, ESPN host Michelle Beadle, along with Fashion Contributor Tim Gunn.

The special will feature interviews with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, giving viewers a front-row seat as the nominees and presenters arrive on the red carpet. ABC will be the only broadcast network live from the red carpet during the final hour ahead of the Emmys telecast.

"Countdown to the Emmys: Red Carpet Live" is produced by ABC's Lincoln Square Productions. John R. Green is the senior executive producer. Morgan Zalkin is the co-executive producer, and Jeff Winn is the director.

The 68th Primetime Emmys will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and televised live on the ABC Television Network at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
