SHOWTIME(R) PRESENTS "SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?"

His Highly Anticipated Fourth Stand-Up Comedy Special To Premiere Saturday, October 1st At 10 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES, CA - September 23, 2016 - The outrageously funny stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco asks the questions most people won't in his upcoming comedy event, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?, premiering on Saturday, October 1st at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME on-air, on demand and over the internet. Directed by Joe Demaio, written by Maniscalco and filmed live at New York City's famed Beacon Theatre during one of the seven sold-out shows on his 2016 tour, the hour-long special is chock-full of skepticism. With his unique brand of sharp observational comedy, high-energy physicality and inimitable facial expressions, Maniscalco invites the audience to take a look at their own habits through the lens of his old-world, Italian-American upbringing where everyone and everything is suspect. From odd nicknames for grandparents and giving "parent prices," to house parties where they make you take your shoes off, no one is safe from his quick-witted discourse. To view and share a behind the scenes teaser from SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?, go to: http://bit.ly/2dpz8Zk and for more information visit SHO.com.

The 2016 Just For Laughs Stand Up Comedian of the Year, Maniscalco is one of comedy's fastest rising new stars. Born and raised in a working-class Chicago neighborhood, he moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue his comedy career. There, he employed the work ethic his father instilled in him to build his name - simultaneously working as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel - and eventually drew the attention of actor Vince Vaughn, who cast him in Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show. Maniscalco also stars in his own wildly popular The Pete and Sebastian Show podcast every Friday night. Maniscalco can be seen in the upcoming feature films The House, starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler; Cruise, directed by Rob Siegel and produced by Jeremy Renner; and the animated feature Nut Job 2, opposite Jeff Dunham.

From Levity Productions, SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? is executive produced by Maniscalco, Judi Brown Marmel and Stu Schreiberg.

SHOWTIME is currently available to subscribers via cable, DBS and telco providers, and as a stand-alone streaming service through Apple(R), Roku(R), Amazon and Google. Consumers can also subscribe to SHOWTIME via Hulu, Sony PlayStation(R) Vue and Amazon Prime Video.
