Discovery Channel Announces "Mega Week" with Super-Sized Episodes and All-New Specials
This week-long celebration of all things Discovery - kicks off on Sunday, December 4 and wraps on Saturday, December 10.

DISCOVERY CHANNEL ANNOUNCES "MEGA WEEK" WITH SUPER-SIZED EPISODES AND ALL-NEW SPECIALS

'Mega Week' to Air Sunday, December 4 to Saturday, December 10 on Discovery

(LOS ANGELES) - Discovery Channel's fan-favorite MEGA WEEK returns with super-sized episodes of Discovery's top series and all-new specials. When you pack 8 premieres in 7 days it must be MEGA WEEK! This week-long celebration of all things Discovery - kicks off on Sunday, December 4 and wraps on Saturday, December 10.

On Sunday, December 4, Discovery will air a special 2-hour episode of the Emmy-nominated series, ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER. This season, singer-songwriter Jewel returns home for the first time in seven years. Accompanied by her son, Kase, she hopes to give him a taste of her Alaskan roots. Upon arrival, Jewel jumps right back into homestead life, saddling up to help her father on a cattle drive.

Discovery's iconic Motor Monday line-up goes into high gear with a mega, two-hour special episode of cable's #1 non-sports telecast among men, STREET OUTLAWS, airing Monday, December 5 at 9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT. This season, the boys of the 405 are headed south to Ennis, Texas. In the two-hour Mega Week premiere, the OKC crew will race in front of 30,000 die-hard street racing fans at the Texas Motorplex in the American Outlaws Live event. More organized than the sport has ever been, this event may be the precursor of a national league of street racers, similar to NASCAR or IndyCar, (bringing the legitimacy of street racing to an all-time high).

Then, on Tuesday, December 6, it's time to rise and shine with an all new episode of MOONSHINERS airing at 9:00 -10:00PM ET/PT. Moonshine season is in full swing, and shiners rush to get their brew into the hands of waiting buyers. After a disastrous start, Josh struggles to get his season back on track, but his new right-hand-man's rookie mistake could leave their operation dead in the water. Master distiller Tim Smith travels across the Atlantic to teach an old Irish distillery a thing or two about making moonshine. And in Tennessee, Mark and Digger's mash test with master shiner JB Raider is interrupted by an unwanted visitor.

On Wednesday, December 7, Farley and his team wade deeper into deadly waters in an all-new episode of LEGEND OF CROC GOLD at 10:00PM ET/PT. Tension among the crew grows after a rash move by Farley leaves him broken and bedridden. The team battles it all - equipment failure, a beached boat and if things couldn't get any worse, they come face to face with lethal crocs.

MEGA WEEK heats up on Thursday, December 8 with a two-hour FAST N' LOUD special airing at 9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT. Last year, Aaron and Richard built a '68 Corvette into a life-sized Hot Wheels car called "The Midas Monkey." Mattel loved it so much they decided to turn it into an actual toy. When the guys return to Mattel to check out the car, they are met with an unexpected proposal to up their game and build a life-sized Red Line Club car.The "Red Line Club" is the Hot Wheels elite line of toy cars which are higher quality collectibles. If they do a good job, Hot Wheels will consider adding it to the line. This is a huge opportunity for Gas Monkey as a Red Line Club car with Gas Monkey's name on it would take their brand to a whole new level. Always game for a challenge, Aaron reveals his pick for the build: a 1963 Ford Econoline truck. A kooky but fun choice, Aaron believes it will end up translating into a rad Red Line Club car. Richard gives Aaron an unlimited budget with one catch- the car must be ready in 10 weeks to unveil at the big Red Line Club party at the Hot Wheels Head Quarters in Southern California. Richard, Aaron and the Gas Monkey Crew must work feverishly down to the wire to make it to the Hot Wheels party where Mattel execs will decide whether it's good enough to become an official Red Line car.

Friday night's line-up of MEGA WEEK promises to deliver a mega amount of gold. Discovery's #1-rated show, GOLD RUSH airs at 9:00 PM ET/PT. In this mega-packed episode, Tony Beets breaks records with the biggest gold haul in Gold Rush history. Parker Schnabel battles to save his dream wash plant and Todd Hoffman may finally find some gold. Then stick around because at 10:00 PM ET/PT, there will be a brand new episode of TREASURE QUEST: SNAKE ISLAND where the danger and risk is higher than ever before. With treasure in sight, the team must stay focused and vigilant if they want to succeed.

Lastly, on Saturday, December 10, cash in on more of your favorite STREET OUTLAWS episodes where the fierce, fast and merciless competition continues. Join Azn, Big Chief and the rest of the OKC Crew as they take over the streets of Ennis, Texas.
